When I lived in RI, there was a guy who had an “eco friendly” service that used goats to clear poison ivy and chickens for ticks. He would set up mobile fences in the yard to contain the animals and let them have at it for the day and then round them up in the afternoon. ........................................... I have that 'service' on my farm and its there 7x24 365 and it does make a huge difference on ticks (the guineas being simply magnificent). But it doesn't do squat in any short period. I hate ticks. Vegetation management is your primary and best defense. In areas that is not possible and the guineas don't manage I use permethrin.
