I have to wait a long time to get some K-1s, so I can't do mine early anyway. So today I get one brother's return done, another brother's extension, and finally go to finish mine and have an issue with importing data from Schwab. But I got it done with an hour to spare. Anybody on the east coast I think you're out of time. Central time or westward, anyone still working on it? I suppose if you're actually working on it last minute you won't be on Sigforum. Any other last minute filers?

Who the heck would panic about this. go to direct pay ask them to take a $1 on time and file for an extension automatically. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

Did mine this morning, was expecting my usual of pay $300 which is why I wait until the last moment. Ended up with a $300 refund, only thing I can figure in the difference is overtime no longer being taxed. My daughter can deflate your daughter's soccer ball.

I mailed them a paper check on Monday. Mrs. Mike did the filing electronically, but it would cost us more if we used a credit card. “You may beat me, but you will never win.” sigmonkey-2020 “ in my opinion, anything that we can do to trigger a potential aneurysm in a leftist is a good thing and worth doing” nhtagmember 2025

I have always had a CPA firm do our taxes so I’m probably the last person to give advise on the topic but I was under the impression that you were suppose to pay about 90% of your estimated taxes when you file for an extension not just $1 to avoid any penalty. ------------------ Eddie Our Founding Fathers were men who understood that the right thing is not necessarily the written thing. -kkina

Then you can scarcely claim to be a last minute filer. Serious about crackers.

Snail mailed mine on Monday with the usual paper check. I'm not giving them my money until the last minute! "Even if the world were perfect it wouldn't be." ... Yogi Berra

^^^^^^^ If you use the EFT payment method you can set up the payment ahead of time and specify the payment date for April 15. Free, and very secure with no chance of a post office bungle and you get a confirmation number. Serious about crackers.

You've conflated two things. 90% is your target of paid to actual during the tax year, subject to some exceptions both good and bad. When you file an extension, you are required to have paid 100% or more or will be subject to penalties AND interest. You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

I started my taxes on the 13th of April and finished them Wednesday morning because I knew I was going to owe so no sense in giving the government my money any sooner than necessary. Downside was I owed, upside was I had enough money to write a check and pay it off.

Effin Turbo Tax wouldn't work on windows 10 unless I paid a ransom so I switched to H&R block at the last minute and after about a doz years of TT. Learning curve wasn't too bad, price was less and my taxes are now relatively simple so all was good until a glitch in state caused me to have file state by mail. Fuckin thieves. ________________________ God spelled backwards is dog

I had my tax info done a month ago but we’re in the middle of buying two houses so I just filed for an extension. No big deal. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

Completed and filed all tax forms in March, got State refund. Had Fed payment submitted last night. 4 digit check, but fortunately, very low 4 digits, and the State refund covered almost all of it. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

I've been using the free version of HR Block for several years now and it does have a couple of glitches here and there but pretty easy to figure them out with a little trial and error but the program is free so I can't complain. Throughout the program they try and up sell you on different packages but I just decline since my taxes are as simple as taxes can get.
