Black92XL, we live in the same region, so you understand the terrain and weather conditions. I don't think that I was ever aware of those boots/shoes. The linked boot isn't quite what I'm looking for, but I did find a couple that I'm interested in. Though they are a little more than I was looking at. But I might just spring for them. I have been wearing Vasque hiking shoes and been fairly happy with them, but I'm waiting to try something else. I was looking a some Keen's, but don't know anyone who has them, and know nothing about them. ARman

Those are some seriously breathing shoes. That pic alone convinced me. Diligentia, Vis, Celeritas "People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." -- George Orwell

I wore Salomon Speedcross 5’s on a Mammoth March 20 mile hike and my feet looked normal the next day. They’re lightweight with aggressive tread. Probably not waterproof, though but they do dry quickly.
