As the title says, I'm looking for recommendations on lightweight water proof hiking shoes, something that can be an everyday shoe, can be worn in hot, humidit weather, and with proper socks can handle cold weather, high 20' or low 30's.

Soles aggressive in muddy, rocky trails.

I'm in my mid 50's, fairly active and do alot of trails and short day hikes in conservation parks and the like with my two aussies. Nothing really hard-core, but I'm looking for something that can trod through muddy, rocky trails, sandy river bank, unapproved roads, and your everyday grind.

I have a narrow heal, fairly wide instep and arch.

Looking for a reasonable priced shoe, under $200.00, more like $125.00ish. The less expensive the better!

I'm done with Merrill, I have NEVER had one last past 6 months. No Nike, I shouldn't have to explain. But open to about anything else. Looking for something more like a tennis shoe, as apposed to a boot.

Colors, browns, greens, grays, or combination of. No black, or weird Colors. Something low key. Thanks for your Suggestions.

I’m sure there are many choices. For what it’s worth, I’m happy with Salomon hiking low tops with the quick lace and gore tex. And sticky trail tread soles. I also still wear Merrill though. So ymmv.

I’m another for Salomon. They have a variety, so you should be able to find what you are looking for.

Crispi buy once, cry once. Not third world made either.

I wear them for casual, work, and hiking. I have two pair of hiking shoes, one pair of trail running shoes, and one pair of medium boots.

The X-Ultra 4 line has a hard stabilization brace that is from the sole to the laces in front of the ankle bone to limit lateral roll. The other lines are "softer" in that they don't have that stabilization.

This is neither good, nor bad, depending on need, just know that it is there.

Shop their sales (sign up on their website for notifications) and you can consistently find much better pricing than list. I usually order direct from them on sale.

Depending on your needs, you might want to look into trailrunner shoes. A lot of hikers and backpackers are choosing them because they are lighter. Basically the same ankle support as hiking shoes, and they dry quickly.

A couple popular brands these days are Hoka and Altra.

I would look at Danner, although I do not have hiking shoe models to recommend. I have had several sets of hiking boots and thought they were well made.

I'm a Salomon fan too.

I've been wearing Keens for many years now.
They are decent hikers that last well but have a low key look and don't cost so much that they have to last for a decade.
They have a wide variety of styles and if you shop around and are patient there are some great deals to be had.

I also enjoy the woods and going on hikes and camping trips to places around the northeast where I can hike or backpack from 2 or 3 hours to 2 or 3 days has always been my idea of a good time.

I tried some name brands and settled on Keen Targhee models. Through the years I've moved on from Targhee to Targhee II and Targhee III in all different boot heights from ankle to mid to high.

I know they don't have the slickest appearance compared to others but I can attest to their fit and Durability.

They are worth considersation.

For conditions that are hot & humid, the last thing you want is waterproof; not only will you encourage blistering but, you'll also develop infections and trench foot problems. Such conditions, you want synthetic materials and highly breathable, think jungle boots and similar.

Hoka's Anacapa and Stinson are very popular for those seeking more underfoot support and stability for the hike. FYI- Hoka is the leading running shoe brand with a significant market share amongst technical and full-time runners.

I’ll disagree you can certainly be fully waterproof and breathable. I am in Central Kentucky which means we see very humid wet nasty weather easily into the 90s every summer and we are around 0 and below with the windchill plenty in the winter.
I wear the same boot all year round 10 hours a day and they are full grain leather, fully waterproof and breathe great.
I wear good socks too (which is just as important as the boot), but I get no blisters, no infections, no trench foot.
I have worn a version of these for 40+ hours a week for the last 8 years or so now.

Waterproof and breathable? I'm not so sure.

Altra Lone Peak are well like by through hikers. They have a wide toe box. They don’t really have a drop so try them first as some people love them and some don’t.
