My darling wife has submitted a book for a Kindle publishing contract . I'm attaching her description and a link to the work.

I'm asking interested forum members to take a look and help her earn the contract. Thanks!

Noisnemid (Sci-fi / Fantasy) is being considered for a publishing contract, this is a reader generated contract, so I need your vote. The link below will take you to Noisnemid page where you can read it for free, then please nominate it. This book has been five years in the making, it holds my essence. Thank you T.Wrage

Nomination sent.

I'd like to offer some constructive criticism after reading the excerpt:

Your wife needs the assistance of an editor, especially to help guide her use of punctuation. A large number of commas were inserted where they were not needed, which makes the passages tougher to read since the grammar/punctuation is a bit off. In addition, the repeated use of lengthy compound sentences with multiple semicolons and commas prevents the passages from flowing as smoothly as they should.

The good news is that when her book is chosen for publication, it appears that Amazon will assist with editing to some degree. But she may end up needing to hire an independent editor as well.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Done, but RogueJSK is absolutely correct. The story is interesting, but an editor is necessary, I’m afraid.

I predict that there will be many suggestions and statements about the law made here, and some of them will be spectacularly wrong. - jhe888

Thanks to all of you! Yes it does need a little editing. That's part of the process. Hiring an independent editor is crazy expensive!

Not as expensive as you might think. A 4th year or graduate level English major at a local school would gladly help you out for a c note or two, and you’ll end up with someone with way better grammar and punctuation abilities than you’ll have by yourself.
