Yes they were pretty eager to help out the cop, but I don't think it is because they were good citizens. Might have been a homie invading on their turf and this is a good time to kick his ass.

This honestly doesn’t surprise me all that much. Despite what the BLM and Antifa types would have you believe, most black people want police trying to keep their neighborhoods safe. When I was covering a large protest as a bomb technician I had to go into the crowd a couple times to X-ray suspicious packages. The only people that got close to me were white hipster types. Every time I went out there were several black folks that told people to get back and give me space to work because I was trying to keep them safe. I’m fully of the belief that our current unrest is not a black vs. white thing like many media folks would have you believe. This is totally a socialist and anarchist push to take advantage of the situation.

Well you don't see that very often. I'm also of the thought that the guy was either a rival gang member or neighborhood dick. The others were a little to eager to get in a few more blows while they had the opportunity.

But I suspect the video may be somewhat older (at least 6+ months), considering nobody is wearing a mask, even the cop.

I just watched it a second time. Sore for a month might be optimistic. Maybe 3 months? He definitely got an ass kicking.

Good on the neighborhood for helping out but...

That officer, is right up there with the female officer who backed-out of the convenance store shooting in NYC or, the Berkeley officer who allowed the perp to get back into his vehicle.

This is shit guys get dropped from the academy for, zero hand-to-hand skills, no weight training. He needs to moved to the PR branch and work the rest of his retirement handing out brochures and stickers.

And that very well may be the case here, especially the guy in the white t-shirt, he seemed motivated to keep this guy down for LE. The crowd may be tired of seeing other neighborhoods burn down by Antifa/BLM because of some stupid ass thug getting shot from police. The crowd was doing what the cops can't.
