Currently it's "The Defeated" on Netflix, which is about Berlin police in the immediately post-WW2 period.

They're not directly connected by any means, but in a way it's kind of a counterpoint to another of Netflix's series "Babylon Berlin", which is about post-WW1/pre-WW2 Berlin police. I really enjoyed that show, whereas I'm not as impressed by The Defeated.

(Although The Defeated is likely a bit more approachable for the average American viewer, since about half of the dialogue is in English, rather than 100% German like in Babylon Berlin. Plus the main character is American.)

We’ve replaced almost everything with going to the gym as a family. We will watch an episode of Little House on the Prairie on Peacock once in a while - we’re on season 8 so there’s only like 33 episodes left - and we watch Tom Bradford on YouTube every Sabbath.

YouTube is the only thing we pay for.

Mostly glitzy newish Trek franchises.
"Star Trek Discovery" and "Strange New Worlds" on Paramount+, and "Orville New Horizons" on Hulu.

"Halo" is the new standard for the genre in my opinion. Was very surprised by how good that was.

I just started a free year of AppleTV from T-Mobile. I started on the first episode of Tehran. It looks like it's about Mossad operatives going into Iran to sabotage their nuclear program. Very interesting.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

The only contemporary show I'm watching is Better Call Saul, the only new show I have an interest in. Actually binged it earlier this year to get re-acquainted before the start of the series final season. So far, I'm not disappointed.

One show the wife and I are into this year is Adam 12, DVR reruns on MeTV. Prior, I haven't seen it in decades. Damn, what an enjoyable show.

Right now, "Strange Evidence" on the Science Channel is on my TV. I'm not really watching it, though--it's just sound while I'm on the computer.

I mostly watch NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles; and Hawai'i Five-O, some of the Fox folks (Tucker, Laura, Hannity, and Mark Levin), and various things on the History and American Heroes channels. No MSM or local news unless I'm made aware of something important happening in the local area (bad weather, emergency notice, mention on Fox News).

Watched Severance (super good quality show), Stranger Things 4 (corny at this point but well done production), and now enjoying Obi-wan Kenobi. After that it's youtube.com for Cleetus McFarland, Dennis Collins, Hagerty Barn Find Hunter, Car Wizard, and a few others.
