"RIP, RIP, RIP"

It's been a long time since I asked, but, gentlemen, this is so very overused- along with "Rest in peace"- that it has lost all meaning. Literally, it has lost all meaning.

Please, find a different way to express condolences? Have mercy.

Enjoyed his work over the years, especially his role as Det. Pembleton.

Weren't great movies but I loved him in Duets, The Mist and Frequency. Loved his voice ( Not his singing voice, I know he didn't sing in Duets) and body language. Life is short. His seemed like it was pretty good. I will raise a glass to him tonight.

Some of my favorite Andre Braugher clips have been very recently blocked by NBC on YouTube…disappointing since they refuse to stream the show. Anyway, I was able to pull this one…it’s very good.

He was one of those guys that could add some gravitas to a movie or TV drama. He seemed like one of the few actors I'd want to meet and get to know. Would love to have had the opportunity to meet him.

A year (or maybe less) older than I. There is no promise of tomorrow but damn that is too young.

Condolences to his friends and family. A great actor. IIRC correctly he had a small part as a DA in the movie Stiking Distance w/ Bruce Willis.

I loved the role he played in Duets, a movie I watch whenever it's on. Karaoke hustlers Huey Lewis and Gwnyth Paltrow along with Paul Giamatti and several more memorable characters - Great Flick.

The report is in that he died of lung cancer that he only found out about a few months before passing. He had quit smoking and drinking over a decade ago. Still higher risk than a non-smoker.

A pretty good read about Andre Braugher and his Homicide charter’s battle with faith and religion on the job…

Andre Braugher played the best Catholic character on TV

Light at the end of the tunnel, and it’s not a train…

Homicide: Life On The Street might actually come to streaming at some point

The death of Andre Braugher last week has apparently pushed NBCUniversal to finally try and figure out how to get influential police procedural Homicide: Life On The Street—which gave Braugher his breakout role, as Detective Frank Pembleton—onto streaming. That comes from David Simon, who later created The Wire and wrote the book that Homicide was based on, who posted on Twitter that he’s been informed by “a reliable source” that the network is finally trying to the show’s music rights so it can be released on streaming. He says he’s been told that it will be a “lot of work” to actually do that, but the proverbial wheels seem to be in motion. “Andre alone ought to rate such,” he added.
