I have a current Silverado that I wouldn't sell to anyone that I knew. I looked at a Tundra, which was really nice in some ways, cheap in a few others and had absolutely no storage outside the glove box and central console (i.e. under 2nd row etc). Nowhere online seems to review or rate trucks based on interior storage. I know that I can put a toolbox in the back but as small as standard beds are it largely renders the bed useless for what I'd use it for imho. I guess I need to get a bunch of federal grants and start my own car company. _________________________ NRA Endowment Member _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. If you want a truck with a lot of covered storage, check out the Honda Ridgeline. Interior storage in center console, glove box, and under 2nd row, and also an in-bed trunk.

Ford used to have a truck with an extra 6" behind the seats. Then came the phase of a mini-door behind the driver door; tc etc etc. I've road-tripped thousands of miles in a regular cab standard bed with 16" box and gotten used to the constraints. After I realized you always want a small duffle with one overnight set in the cab in case your box becomes frozen shut.

Say what? There is a ton of room under my second row. You can even get locking rifle vaults for that space.

I’d say you haven’t looked around enough. Ram trucks, in particular, are known for their interior comforts ... and storage. Double glove boxes. Center console. Ice bin/storage lockers under each rear floorboard. Extra storage space under each seat, folding rear seats, Ramboxes, Etc.This message has been edited. Last edited by: x0225095, 0:01

I'd suggest looking at the Nissan Titan XD before you make your final decision. I never thought I'd even suggest a Nissan, but then I went on a fishing trip with a guy who had one and was very impressed. Then my wife bought a Rogue, and while taking it in for an oil change browsed through the brochure and checked out a couple. I think it will be my next truck.

I looked yesterday. There was 1 1/2 inches of air between the bottom of the 2nd row seats and the fabric of the flat floor underneath. The Honda doesn't do it for me. I'll look at the Nissan. Keep the thoughts and suggestions coming! _________________________ NRA Endowment Member _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. The only thing I hate about my Tundra is the lack of storage. In my Crewmax I don't even get any storage under the back seat. Glovebox and console is it. When I get my next one I'll probably get an Undercover Swingcase for in the bed with a Hard tonneau.

Tundra Double Cab has full storage under the rear seat. Cavernous center console. Glove box sucks.

Gonna relook at a Tundra in a limited double cab when available but told no 8 foot beds sold in this region. I've had pickups for a long time, but the only thing worse than not having one is not having one that meets your expectations and needs Will look at 4runner. All I want is capable, but broadly capable. _________________________ NRA Endowment Member _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. There is actually a lot of space under the rear of a Tundra CrewMax. You just have to do the work yourself. There are a number of kits out there from open top to lockable pods, or some big enough for long guns. Saw one guy cut the stuff out and used baking pans. Link to original video: https://youtu.be/f6wIqRU2LP8 New Tundra stock is so low at the moment across the country you’re likely going to have to order one anyway. You can order the double cab with the 8’ bed. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. That's crazy. Thanks! Mind boggling that the companies wouldn't just optimize the whole space, given what they charge for these vehicles. _________________________ NRA Endowment Member _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It's why I went with a Ford Expedition XL. I need interior space and storage room far more often than I needed a open box. Taking 4 or 5 guys on a out of state fishing trip with all their gear no problem. i have comfortably seated seven people on a four hour drive and everyone had plenty of leg and ass room with no complaints. Need to haul the side by side, get a load of dirt or wood I have trailers for that. Besides that Expedition goes down the highway like grandpa's Buick. It's so quiet you can hear a mouse fart. I’ve got a 2018 Silverado crew cab that has a decent amount of storage. There’s lots of in door storage, two glove boxes, lockable storage under the console and I can put several rifles under the rear seat. The Dodge Rams do have the most storage though. I've just pretty much had it with the Silverados. Every other one is a dud. No inventory at the dealer I deal with to consider. _________________________ NRA Endowment Member _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. As was mentioned above the Rams have more room than you have a right to expect... Also, the Ford F-150’s have a flat floor that really maximizes you’re options.. Don’t be afraid to order one if for some reason the dealers around you haven’t configured one the way you like it. I’ve done that for our last 3 pick up trucks; two f-350 srw cc with 8 foot beds and a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. ------------------ Eddie Our Founding Fathers were men who understood that the right thing is not necessarily the written thing. -kkina
