when I look at those kids on both sides, players and uniformed, in the stands, I think our country is in good hands. I encouraged my grandson to work towards a Naval Academy path he had the skills and grades to do it but it didn't work out (not much effort) but he did get a full scholarship to Mercer for soccer.

I only watch one or two games a year - both Army/Navy games.

I root for both teams.

It was a good game but the 4th quarter was the best

Fear the goat!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Flipping back and forth between ND State vs Mercer and Dog Faces vs the Squids

It was a divided house growing up:

My Dads side were all Army NCO's serving back to WW1. All Combat MOS and all served during a "conflict"

My mothers side were Petty Officers with the rating of Gunners Mates/Guns.

Uniforms:

The Black Knights will wear the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagle patch on their uniforms for the 2024 Army-Navy Game:

The Black Knights' uniforms will also include other features to honor the 101st Airborne Division, including:

Helmets: The helmets will have a matte black finish with white speckles, and will read "Screaming Eagles" on the front. The sides of the helmets will feature card suit markings used by the 101st paratroopers to identify their units. The rear bumper will have the 101st's motto, "Rendezvous With Destiny".

Shoulder: The right shoulder will have an invasion star.

Shield: The uniforms will feature a coppered Athena shield.

Uniform color: The overall color of the uniform will be black with white freckling, to represent the snow-covered pine forests in the Ardennes.

Uniform detailing: The uniform will have other details that reflect the experience of the 101st Airborne Division during World War II, such as a "Bastogne Road Sign" on the top left of the torso.

Navy Uniforms:

Will pay homage to the Strike Fighter Squadron 103, nicknamed the "Jolly Rogers" and with roots dating back to World War II.

The squadron is considered one of the most lethal in the Navy. The group uses the call sign "Victory" and feature the tagline "fear the bones" as a rallying cry.

The uniform, naturally, features the iconic skull and crossbones on the helmet and the colored patches of the jersey are meant to mimic the planes.

Both the nameplate and numbers are based on lettering from the aircrafts and "Fear the Bones" is emblazoned on the bottom of the helmets.

The pants are also adorned with the six squadrons that have earned the name Jolly Rogers from 1943 to today -- VF-17, VF-5B, VF-61, VF-84, VF-103 and VFA-103.

Good game so far. I disagree with the unsportsmanlike call on Navy after the touchdown, that was BS.
