Sorry for the loss. A good friend of mine lost his 19 year old son almost 3 years ago who took his own life. His father came home to find him hanging from the second floor railing. I watched him grow up from age 4 to 19. I’d taken him shooting several times and he handled the guns well and was more safe with guns than his father was. Such a senseless loss.

Sounds so much like my story with Raymond and his family. I've watched him grow up from elementary school to 20 or 21. Every time I've talked with Steven since he moved to NC one of the first things I'd ask him is how Raymond was doing.

The thought of him walking in to see his son hanging there and not being able to get him down and save him is overwhelming. How someone deals with that is unfathomable to me.

I don’t know how someone deals with that either. It was 5 days before he could gather himself up enough to call to tell me about it. I don’t think I slept at all that night. I made a 13 x 19 collage of his son with photos from age 4 till the last day I took him shooting including a lot of photos from high school events his father had never seen before. I just don’t understand what makes someone want to take their own life, specially at such a young age.

Done.
May Raymond rest in peace and may his loved ones find consolation.
One cannot fathom what his parents must be going through.

Donated. Looks as if there may be enough to cover expenses now.

My prayers for the family. I have a friend whose teenaged son took his own life some years ago, and then his mom couldn't handle it and took her own life, too. A very sad situation.

I think we are to the point that all expenses will be covered, and even allow for a few extra dollars to allow Steven some time to grieve and not worry about lost income. He works for a small electrical firm and bereavement leave is not a thing.

I updated the original post until we get the final details from the funeral home and graveyard.

Thank you so much guys for your support, I wish I could tell you how much this means for my friends, just got off the phone with them and when I told them what we have done they were completely in shock at the generosity of you guys, our contribution, my facebook friends, and both of our employers contributions. My wife's boss contributed $5,000 for a complete stranger, I almost fell out of my chair when I saw it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Para, especially thank you for allowing me to post this. You don't know how much it means to my family and the Moore's.

If only you guys knew the family you were helping, then you'd know of all the people on the planet deserving of help, these are them.

Jesse, I am so sorry that I only got to this thread today. If needed I would still contribute. I have had two friends that have lost their children this way and it brings back the sadness and the grief. I feel your grief, as I know I had many of the same feelings for the losses of my friends too. Prayers are sent, thoughts are given, in the hope that the family finds peace in Godspeed.
