Time to restructure and rebuild the shattered Republican Party. What emerges from the political bloodbath needs to begin soon. 2028 is not far off.

The last twenty years plus we saw a shift of blue-collar workers who traditionally were Democrats, start voting with the GOP...farmers, ranchers, truckers, trades, warehouse and manufacturing. Fuel prices affects each of those sectors greatly and with diesel hitting $7-8/gallon, which means taking food off the table to put into the fuel tank...then elections will reflect those adjustments; see the elections in Iowa as an example. GOP has their work cut-out, from nominating likable and relatable candidates in a field of Democrat unpopularity, but also candidates who understand economic policy.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

One of the Fox commentators had a good observation. The Democrats spent the last 2 years saying "affordability crisis" for the problems created by Biden. They don't actually have a plan for making things more affordable. In fact, most of their platform has the opposite effect.

In other words, the next 2-years the Republicans need to be hanging the Democrat Congress' inability to deliver affordability promised in 2026.

What happened to the country I emigrated to? In 30 years it’s gone from a capitalist utopia to a Muslim enclave.

I'm pretty disgusted by the voters of Texas. Elected a woman who wants a state income tax as governor. And an effeminate pervert vegan for Senator.

Donald Trump is still President.

Let's do our best to maintain an even strain, please. It's not the end of the world.

Yeah, it was pretty bad!
Worst of all, Trump will never be able to appoint to the Supreme Court again.
By Texas turning blue, will we ever have another Republican president?
Face it, Republicans are terrible about getting out their message. Talk about backing terrible canidates!
So, under 4 years of Biden, Dems. were never able to lower the cost on ANYTHING!
BUT.........in the 2 years under Trump they have quietly figured it out and kept it to themselves!
I don't know about you but I am sick and tired of throwing money away on education.
Billions of dollars wasted with little to no return on the investment!
Billions of dollars and the literacy rate is abysmal. And there are no repercussion?
When I went to school, the teachers did a hell of a lot more with a hell of a lot less.
We will see, hope for the best but............
NOTHING from either party about moving the country forward.
Dems. plan is Get Trump! Revenge! Simply NOTHING else.

I told this to the other half last night.
We have the results and now it is time to work on the future.

We need to start laying the groundwork, planning, and grooming individuals to run for office in 2028.

This is especially true in Virginia.
The Republicans PR campaign, and information warfare personnel should be in overdrive against Spanberger and her flunkies.

We did it against Northam and I feel Spanberger is worse than he was.

Yeah, it sucks but they held the both houses in 2023 and we survived.

I found this on NPR. I am not big on NPR but I am surprised they put this out.

The results of this year's elections don't mean the country is enamored with the Democratic Party: The party is still unpopular and fissures within their coalition will be laid bare over the next several months in the 2028 presidential primaries. They'll have to be careful politically with how they approach leadership with the opportunity they've been handed.

I have the feeling Paxton tainted the Texas Republican ticket in general. Even a lot of Republicans think Paxton is a bad person. I thought Abbott would probably win, and thought Patrick (Lt. Governor) would win for sure. I feared Talarico would win, but I think Paxton poisoned the well for all.

Trump and the R promised two major things when elected.

1) No more wars

2) better economy

They delivered none of it, the war with Iran was Waterloo.... Either he got bad advice, or, as Trump is bound to do, figured he would win in a week or two and went ahead and ended up in the trap with no way out...

I don’t see this as that negative.

It was purely an anti-Trump vote, in order to effectively limit him for the last two years of his presidency. He’s not on the ballot in 2028, but the entire House will be, and a couple swing Senate seats as well.

There are REALLY good things in the conservative platform that we should focus on, and eliminate the bullshit.

Good, strong leaders, with a focus on making America better and stronger.

Economy
Inflation
Wars
Corruption
Debt/Deficit/Spending

That’s your platform. Don’t insult everyone, get solid advice and great people around you, and perhaps calling people who oppose data centers “backwards and poor” isn’t the wisest course of action.

Back in my athletic days when weightlifting for strength, occasionally I would be at my strength’s end late in a set. Though I had a spotter, I insisted on embracing the burn and finding the last surplus effort to press against the resistance and gut out the set to failure. That last ounce of strain is where the growth and strength develops most. Gird up your loins and take fresh courage. Grunt if you must, but press the resistance into submission.
I’d offer similar advice to our number here. Though it’s frustrating to watch our gloating opposition succeed, I know in the end, righteousness will prevail.

The democrats have shown that they hate America and have a willingness and desire to destroy our society.

The fact that they have morphed into a communist organization is just more proof that they’re incompatible with America.

The Republican Party is dead and offers nothing to work with. None of them should be trusted to do what is right.
