I went to the local public library to vote at 7am. The line ran down the hall and around the corner. Once I got through the line (in about 45 minutes), voting was easy.

I'll be leaving work early to go; they pay us for 2 hours to go vote on election days.

I voted just after lunch. Smooth process as always.

Except my retired military ID wasn’t acceptable. Turns out the new version of retired IDs don’t have a visible signature on them. They have an embedded digital version of my signature but the voting people don’t have the ability to read it.
I could use it as a photo id but I still needed something else with my signature on it.

I voted this afternoon and turnout seemed light which is typical for mid-term elections. ID was required for the first time and one initiative on the ballot to vote on was should only US citizens be allowed to vote.

Here in Metro Louisville, we had a choice between Democrat as an “undertaker with no charisma”, or a DSA who drops the “R” card at the drop of the criticism hat. We held are noses and voted for the “undertaker”. The local Republican Party can’t even field a dog catcher for a countywide contest.

Shouldn’t be a problem for the Republicans to hold the Congressional offices but the 6th District could get interesting as Barr left it to run for Senate (McConnell’s seat).

Nope, no physical polling locations. They had early-voting locations, but not today on election day. At least none that showed up with a half hour of scouring various government web sites.

But what kind of election is it when there is no way to vote in person on election day?

You don't have a place to vote on election day?
Seriously? Where?

I have always only voted on election day. Today was no different. I vote within a mile or so of my house.

Well I stumbled upon an open polling place at the county library. This morning I spent a solid 30 minutes on the county government site, the county clerk's site, the Utah state government site, and a couple of other county sites. Our county site said the County Clerk would post locations on her site. Her site said she would, too, but there was no such list. She did list early voting polling sites with dates and times, ending yesterday. Even the local news sites only cited early-voting in person.

There was literally no indication on any official web site of any open polling locations today.

During Covid we were a 100% mail-in vote state. At some point since then they did open polling stations but they mail a ballot to everybody, encouraging mail-in voting.

I caught a lull at ~3 PM at my local voting location in Upper Macungie, PA.

No waiting.

I asked the person that I signed in with how the volume was earlier and he said “Pretty busy and steady.”

I had to vote early last week because today I was on call as a witness for the state in a murder trial.

I walked through the doors at 1:59 PM to vote. Promptly at 2:00, they paused just as I was being ID'd in order to receive a ballot. The pollsters were going through a seemingly periodical semi-hourly report. I assumed this was to report the number of voters that had been processed today to higher authorities. I recognized a few of the pollsters from the community, but miss the old days of seeing my friends' parents within the community working the polls. Before feeding my ballot into the machine, I asked if it matters if it is face up or face down. The response was it does not matter, so I placed it face down to prevent him from seeing my selections. He made sure I waited for the "click" to be sure my ballot had been counted. Seems square at my local polling place. The same system of processing ballots seems to have not changed over the past dozen years.

Voted early the wife and I went up together, you get a copy of the ballot sheet prior so you can go through and get your picks done in advance, then fill in the actual ballot at the precinct..

It's FL so ID required, once they get that done and you sign, get your signature checked you get the actual ballot.

I arrived at around 7:15am. There were around 20-25 people in line and 2 of the 6 or so machines were down for the duration. Took about a half hour to get out. The two down machines were not successfully brought online before I left. The lack of speed definitely affected the parking situation which was poor, and I would not be surprised if people left due to lack of availability.

Lol, my bad. The county posted it on FaceBook at 1pm today. Apparently their FB page is an official county site.

Posted here again. Bigwagon knew this, kudos to him. And it's readily knowable by everyone.

In Milwaukee and elsewhere, the State Legislature wouldn't change the law to allow counting of mail in and absentee ballots prior to Election Day. This leaves a massive number of ballots to count in short order, with a large impact on totals in the State. Thus, the "ballot dump".

You'd know that if you'd spent 30 seconds looking into it. Have to assume you haven't.

The counting, handled at Central Count, the Italian Community Center this year, is open to the public. Go observe.
