2000Z-71Phenomenal customer service from Cabela's
I may have to take back a lot of things I've said about the decline of Cabela's over the years after today. Ordered a Sig Romeo X Micro Enclosed red dot for my 365 Legion. Between their 1 day sale of 10% off, a couple of gift cards I received for Christmas and points on my Cabela's Visa, it was a significant discount.
Get a message this morning that it's been delivered. All excited check the from door and the mailbox and nothing. Bummer. Maybe premature and will show up this afternoon. Still nothing. Start checking e-mails for confirmations and tracking numbers all showing it's been delivered. The check the photo on the Fed Ex confirmation and holy shit, it's sitting right next to the front door of my old house in Phoenix.
Crap, now I'm going through all kinds of scenarios in my head of how to get it from Phoenix, looking up the current owners, contacting friends etc. to get it up to Alaska. Then I called Cabela's and explained what happened. Turns out when I fat fingered my Visa card number during the purchase and had to re-enter it, the system defaulted to my old address.
Their response, "No problem sir, I'll make arrangements to send another one to the correct address at no extra charge to you."
Not the response I was expecting at all. Now the next problem, I bought the last one and it is no longer in stock. I was offered a full refund or credit towards purchase of something similar. Not wanting to lose all of the discounts I found the full sized Romeo X Enclosed. Not a problem, and they took 10% off to match the sale savings under which I ordered the original. While I was planning on putting red dot on my XTen Comp, I was planning for the 365 first. Just a minor change of plans rather than the loss I was anticipating.
While Cabela's is no longer the single store in Nebraska that I remember, and it has slid in quality of goods sold, the customer service I received today was beyond what I had expected.

egregoreI'm a little confused by the Cabela's
Visa. Cabela's used to own the bank (World's Foremost, natch) that issued it, but it has been a Capital One Mastercard (still with the same name and terms) since 2016. I have had one in both incarnations since 2002.

shovelheadI have the Cabela’s Master Card and my visits online or in store are as a result of points or the occasional gift card I get for there.
Their online ordering is great, never any problems with it. Wish I could say the same thing about the in store shopping, it like many other things has fallen post Covid.

mikeyspizzaThe Charlotte area has a Bass Pro in Concord NC and 26 miles away a Cabela's in Fort Mill SC that opened in 2015. The Cabelas's is now a Bass Pro.
