You don't run unleaded fuel through those old carbureted cars. Use a lead additive that is available at most, if not all auto parts stores.

Or get hardened valve seats in the heads done to handle it.

My 57 handles unleaded all day, ethanol as well. But it’s hardly stock.

When I was in college I had an old continental.

I only remember a few things about it.

I was green, comfortable, got 16mpg, and topped out the at around 112 needle on the dash.
