For a while now, I've had only one page, simply because I am not savvy on website building. "website under construction" has been in my signature for a few years now.

A friend from church offered to help me out. Let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions.

Feedback is appreciated.

Tony,

Why the Latin in the About page? Maybe add a translation below it for those who can't be bothered to translate for themselves.

And Latin "placeholders" for testimonials? Better would simply be an "under construction" label.

Didn't know you worked on Savage bolt actions... no picture of one among those on your new web site though.

The immediate 1st thing that comes to mind as viewed on my cell phone, the text over the pictures isn't very easily read. Perhaps have higher contrasting color to make text stand out.

Thanks for the latin heads up! I didn't click that banner and didn't know it was there. I just asked my guy about it.

The Garand scrolls along the header. I'm going to be giving him a bunch of pictures to create a gallery which will include my Savage work.

One grammatical change I would make- change "Specialize in M14/M1A rifle building..." to "Specializing in M14/M1A rifle building..."

While either may be correct, the latter seems more correct.

I'm a little rusty, but Google translate comes up with this:

It is important to take care of the patient, to be followed by the patient, but it will happen at such a time that there is a lot of work and pain. For to come to the smallest detail, no one should practice any kind of work unless he derives some benefit from it. Do not be angry with the pain in the reprimand in the pleasure he wants to be a hair from the pain in the hope that there is no breeding. Unless they are blinded by lust, they do not come out; they are in fault who abandon their duties and soften their hearts, that is toil.

That's default placeholder text until the webmaster pastes final copy. That page is still being built.

It's actually referred to as "Lorem Ipsum" text...

quote:
Lorem Ipsum was originally taken from a Latin text by the Roman philosopher Cicero, a connection that Latin scholar Richard McClintock made in the 1980s. It has gone through significant changes over the centuries, with words being taken out, shortened, and added in. The word ‘lorem’, for example, isn’t a real Latin word, it’s a shortened version of the word ‘dolorem’, meaning pain.

I like the layout of the site, very easy.

The photos seems grainy and I am on a desktop. The Garand seems most grainy to me.
The text over the photos are good.

Your website and skills make me want to buy an M1A and have you build one. I wish I had the funds.

The "Free Consult" & "Know More" buttons doesn't seem to take you anywhere. At least on my cell phone.

Redo the third photo with the garden container in the background...it is a distraction. In the future, use a flash whenever photographing in shadow areas, as in your bench photo. Not nitpicking, I do this for a living. As mentioned, in the ABOUT section, English, please.

Your images are tack sharp.
Cheers.

Your Contact Us link goes to an actual physical address in Auburndale, which I assume is your home. A home last sold on June 24, 2022 for $201/sq.ft....... etc. Not sure you really intend that, since you don't have a street address at the bottom of main page, just city.

For this business I'd personally not list my home address even if I intended to do business there with clients I had vetted.

Also, unless you intend to take international clients the 1+1+ prefix to phone number is not needed. Actually even if, it sort of is unnecessary since that won't apply to them. Area code and number should be enough.

First thing I saw was "Free Consultant". Change to "Click here for a free consultation" or something like that. Or "Contact Us" and hyperlink your email.

When I click on the box it changes color and nothing else.

As far as the dead buttons and links- It looks like the web guy has only started developing the new site, and most of the pages haven't been built yet or still under construction.

I like it, and think it will be great when finished. I have a few suggestions, below...

Must have the gallery, but should also have a good description of the build, and possibly a comment/endorsement from the customer.

I'd also post some of your targets from your personal builds.

The list of services should include full custom build, obviously without a price.

I'd have a picture of you, probably the one with the helicopter during your Marine service with a bio.

I'd also have some shots of your shop, with the lathe and milling machine, build pics in the gallery, links to your YouTube, etc.

I really like what Volkmann has done with their site. https://www.volkmannprecision.com/

I think it looks pretty good. Posting some fired targets photos along with the rifle that made them is a good idea.

I see a lot is still under construction.

Consider utilizing a different hosting site for your videos. Youtube is age restricting your content, so that embedding is also restricted on your site. People will end up being forced to watch ads on your website, revenue you likely won't get and ads you cannot control. Youtube will often show ads FOR your competitors, that's how the algorithm works.

Hosting with rumble is like $10 a month, and you can have zero ads or you can monetize instantly and collect the ad revenue through a similar but more favorable system. Vimeo is a solution also, but keeps getting more and more expensive. I've been moving all my content to rumble.

The social links in your blog areas appear to be broken. All four of them.

On this page: https://f24.0f5.myftpupload.com/services/ the mixed case in the paragraph body header seems inconsistent and incorrect. I think the spacing in the fee schedule may be inconsistent, the fees don't stand out IMO.

Before I even clicked on your link, I was ready to say, "you have to tell people what it is that you do or what problem you solve."

You certainly do that. So I have nothing to add.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual."
