I'm certain it's an absolute priority that they get some leftist in the services. As it stands today, the military is full of Trumpism...and that's a direct threat to 'democracy'...don't you know.

In stark contrast, watch this Russian recruiting ad that was posted in a townhall.com article about the US Army ad. https://vimeo.com/334102304

In 1977 after 9 1/2yrs active duty I returned to the civilian side and one of the biggest reasons even that far back in time was the direction that leadership was in the begining "woke" mode. There is no way that as a former drill sgt that if I was to look at a current recruit "sideways" of the "time out card" being brought into play. Our friendly country allies as well as our enemies are giggling behind our backs. ................ drill sgt.

I can think of some reasons: -can't score 110+ GT to get into OCS -doesn't qualify for SECRET clearance -can't meet PT standard to be an officer -afraid of being a responsible leader -simply not capable of being a leader based on OCS board panel -possible a recruiter said "go enlisted first then apply for OCS, your Soldiers will respect you more if you were prior enlisted." It's utter bullshit because Soldiers respect competence more than if you were shitty prior enlisted The quality in life and pay differences are significant between being an E4 and an O1. Not many would choose the enlisted route. _____________

You would be surprised how many enlisted in the military have some type of BA/BS and even MS. (Especially in the Military Intelligence, Civil Affairs, Psychological Operations field). Almost all of the enlisted soldiers in my Civil Affairs Unit had BA/BS's and many were working on their MA/MS. The one's that didn't have BA/BS were working on them. My buddy I had lunch with yesterday got his MA in National Security Studies/ Diplomacy from Pitt. I have been enlisted 12 years and have no desire to be an Officer. I toyed with the idea briefly when in high school then college, but then I blinked and got my senses back. Now a Warrant Officer: A definite yes..

Huh? Where do you get that from? In all my time in the Army and Air Guard, I probably served alongside WAY more Democrats than Republicans. This notion that the US military is some sort of right-wing, Republican club is totally untrue.

I got offered OCS at the start of Basic and accepted it, signed for it. At the end of Basic you had to agree again and sign again and I refused this time. Did 9 straight days of KP for that little insult to our C.O.

That recruitng stuff had me reaching for one of my old T-shirts. It had written across the the back - Join the Army! Go to strange exotic places! Meet strange exotic people! And KILL them!

Kurt Weill said, Let's all go barmy, And join the Army. See the world we never saw. And if the population Should meet us with indignation, We'll chew them up because we like our hamburger raw! -- Well, he didn't say that exactly, he said it in German, but that's a reasonable translation. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

Dude, you came in right when it all really started.. it was night and day once the crimson Kenyan took over. I dunno how it was for your MOS in the early days but in the Military Police jet was next to impossible to re enlist unless you were an NCO. When my 3 1/2 years were up they were willing to promote me to E5 just to keep me. After I turned that down the CID offered me a job. Most of the reason I turned it down was the same as you. I just couldn’t put up with it, I saw how incredibly weak we were getting, I literally didn’t trust any of the new privates to not get me killed. My unit got deployment orders a few months before I ETS’d and because of the kids in the unit it wasn’t just a no it was a fuck no.

Now I want to join the Chinese army just because that looked fun. Has the US military really forgotten why young 18-22 yr old males are their actual target for recruits? I know why I joined the Marines right out of high school, and it wasn’t because I was woke, social justice, or even to make a difference. I did it because I was an aggressive eighteen year old kid who wanted to test himself. I wanted a challenge. I wanted to have fun. And I wanted to do it with like minded friends. OcCurt: I feel triggered by your use of the phrase: aggressive eighteen year old kid: limblessbiff: I originally enlisted in 1992 in the BDU army when we had black boots, winters/summer uniforms and pulled KP. I originally signed on as an Aero Scout observer but then switched to Cav Scout right before shipping out because I wanted to shoot big guns, drive Bradleys, be around type A guys, etc.. I liked the blue and white striped shirts of the ABN and Spetsnaz in the Russian Recruiting Video. I also like the Badge they show at the end but I cannot find what it is. I work with a lot of 20-25 year old IN National Guard soldiers and most are getting out after their hitch is up. They are fed up with all the woke/touchy feely BS. Many joined the Infantry to be Infantry... Not what it has turned into. I have not watched the Chinese recruiting video because I already feel like garbage on my day off and don't want to feel worse. I like the British video, but I have to admit I was hesitant to view it because I saw the pair of black boots and high heels and was wondering what gender was wearing the heels. Was it man, woman, unicorn?

You don’t fix faith, River. It fixes you. |
I like the Brit one as well. If the 'wokes' had made it, there would have been lot's more parades and classroom work - definitely no mud and violence. And let's not forget to have an LBGTxxxx shot where the boots pick up and kiss another set of boots ---------------------------------- "If you are not prepared to use force to defend civilization, then be prepared to accept barbarism.." - Thomas Sowell

Hats off to the Brits. That recruiting video is just magnificent! Whoever directed it/filmed it did a damn good job. The new Army recruiting ad is truly pathetic and embarrassing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

The British MALE soldier is lifting up his wife/GF/fiancée off the ground in greeting, probably at his passing-out parade. Call me naive, but I just didn't see anything else...
