When Dianne Feinstein is referred to as the 'moderate democrat' incumbent.

Sheesh.

Have been trying to talk my son into leaving. He has 22 years with the LA County Sheriff's Department. He tells me stories that are difficult to imagine.

"CalPERS Is Near Insolvency; It Needs A Bailout Soon" - Former Board Member Makes Stunning Admission

"The pension crisis is inching closer by the day... Cities point to possible insolvency if payments keep rising but CalPERS is near insolvency itself. It may be reform or bailout soon."

https://www.zerohedge.com/news...-insolvency-it-needs

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

This effed up state is bringing a socialist to a Congress near you.

If nothing else there should be a law where only one candidate from each party is allowed on the final ballot. Not just the two top vote getters of the primaries.

Somebody has to stick around to vote for Devin Nunes so he remains in Congress.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

Sorry chellim1, the pres of a local teachers union had a piece in the montlhy CA teachers union publication telling us to not worry about the scare tactics re CA pension fund insolvency. They are like mortgages, will be paid off in time.

Who to believe. Wink

There have been various reports that the deficit of defined benefit public employee pension funds in CA, if you assume a 4% rate of return on the portfolios, is around $1 Trillion. A few years ago Gov Arnold commissioned two independent studies, one by Stanford, the other U of Chicago (IIRC) who both came up with numbers a bit north of $500 Million deficit.

I find it curious. CA is a somewhat sanctuary state, opposed to anything Trump does. After spewing continual hate, where else will CA go for a bailout? Smile

Although it can't happen, it would be very entertaining if a true "right-wing" candidate got elected there. I think most of the population would probably die from shock.

Doesn't California want to become their own country? PLEASE let them and lets be done with them. Let them go the way of Venezuela or Cuba. California is a lost causes on every front. Let the state collapse and give them NOTHING! No bailout, loans or assistance.
This goes the same for New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and every other liberal, progressive democrat HELL HOLE states, county and city.
I am so disgusted with these people, that I can care less about their health, well being, economy or anything else that benefits them.
One has to remember that the people of these HELL HOLES voted them in, so they get what they voted for!

While I agree with your sentiment you do know that California pays more to the Fed than it receives back?
