Well then TSA rules must differ. I have been stopped twice in the last month from keeping paper in my hands during the bosh scanner. Here in Charlotte and in Vegas. As for a watch I always keep it on my wrist. There’s times I travel with nothing...not even a backpack. _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes. | |||

^^ THIS ^^ Cash isn’t dense (less dense than having a book) and doesn’t cause an alarm. Cheese, fudge, swing weight donut for golf (that Christmas stocking stuffer packed next to charger cables got TSA’s attention), and other dense items cause problems. Only thing special about csh when traveling is if it’s international travel as I previously posted. I put whatever things are in my pockets including my watch and phone in a special (separate) pocket in a bag I'm going through. It doesn't take genius to understand stuff out in the open in those bins are ripe for the picking. I try to keep my eye on my bags as I go through security until I retrieve them. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." The other risk is that a large amount of cash like that is apt to be seized by law enforcement under Seizure and Forfeiture laws. You do not have to be arrested or charged with a crime for this to occur. The burden of proof is on YOU to prove the money is not the fruit of a criminal enterprise since the seizure is a CIVIL action. If you search this subject, you will find all kinds of examples where honest people have had their cash seized and played holy hell trying to get it back.
