Yes I have read a lot of that.

On forums we talk about 'high round count' guns.

At that range they fire literally millions of rounds of ammo a year. So they - as you mention - have a lot to say about long-term reliability of various manufacturers / designs / models / ammunition.

Good stuff.

AND, what is up with those RSO uniforms?
Per the website FAQ, ammo is included, but you can buy more.

The mini-gun cost $200 to fire 100 rounds. In the video that lasted about 1.5 seconds.

The website also says do not arrive intoxicated, etc. I imagine many are naturally high when they leave.

The M45 quad mount is on my bucket list. Big Grin

I’ve sat in them, but didn’t get to fire it. One of the most wicked twin setups I got to shoot was two mg81’s. Both were running at 1600rpm!

If you thought the MG81Z (Zwilling/Double) was impressive... check out the MG81A (Achtling/Octuple)!

~1,500 x 8 = roughly 12,000 RPM. Or roughly 200 rounds per second. Big Grin

During the week of SHOT Show , the lines for the Range go OUT the DOOR. They are busy all day long.

Visited a few years ago during SHOT and the floor was 3" deep in fired brass. They even had a suppressed .338 Lapua and IIRC a fifty one could shoot.

That's nothing a ghost gun can do a 30 magazine clip in half a second.

I'm going to need a few of those miniguns and a shipping container of ammo. Please....

Now I know why GIs called it "Hitler's Zipper."

And that minigun had a laser on it. It would almost be worth it to just shoot that sucker all day. . .

That would be a lot of fun, although it would be my priciest day at the range without bringing anything home to call mine.

I think I'd be OK with some reactive targets at 100-200 yards with about 100 rounds out of a BAR.

I am always impressed at how fast those belts move through MG42s.

I've always heard Hitler's Buzzsaw etc.... but yowza those things chew through belts

I’ve wasted $1K in far worse ways than that. Usually in retrospect, but if I’d had the choice between what I did and that, I’d chose that in a heartbeat.
