That's tough on so many levels. Second shift from maternity leave. My heart breaks for her family, man.
This is one of those rare times that I teared up. Prayers sent for the family.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Dear God…be with the family and the department at this time of unbelievable grief. Give a special measure of grace to the husband of the lost officer and father of the chilcren as he answers questions from the children that cannot be answered. For the men and women of the Police, offer courage to continue on, as they respond to similar calls in the years to come. Protect them in these situations with your unseen angels.

That's awful, just awful. At 3, 1, and 4 months, those kids never got a chance to know their mom. This message has been edited. Last edited by: trapper189,

Obviously it is going to be tough for the children. Not so obvious is "survivors guilt" for the coworkers who maybe thinking that it could have been them instead of her.
