^^This. Pull the plug and turn the blade. If it turns freely, the motor is likely fine. Then look into the recoil starter to see if its tangled or pinched.

sourdough44I doubt you towed it anywhere. I had a log splitter that was once towed without the gas being shut off. Those bumps while towing pushed gas through the carb into the engine. It filled the cylinder with fuel, unable to pull the start rope.
I was perplexed for a bit until I removed the plug. I ended up draining the gas out & changing the oil. I now make sure the gas is off for any towing/trailering, for those with off position.
I would take the plug out then try the pull rope. My engine was Honda too.

I added the supplied bottle of oil prior to using it the first time. It smoked pretty heavily for the first 5 minutes or so, then the smoke stopped. I checked, and it still has the right amount of oil.
Too
much initial oil? Ask me how I know...
Dad was not happy. In my defense, he had not taught how to check oil before then.

I admit, not very funny on my part, but he did say the pull cord was stuck.
