So probably 15 years ago I traded a pistol for this ACOG scope. The tritium was very dim back then and then was completely not visible in low or no light situations, but I love the scope. Mine has an illuminating tube to still light the reticle in lighted situations. I finally just decided to send it off for a factory refurbishment.

They emailed me the RMA and said it was originally issued to the U.S. Government. Trijicon is unable to validate whether this system was properly decommissioned from government property. I hope that doesn’t mean they won’t return my optic if it can’t be verified, but they did not say that so we will see. They only said that a warranty is non-transferable so this would be out of warranty work, which it would be regardless based on the age.

So I shipped it off on Sunday, they will get it in two days, and we will see how much this costs and how it goes. They said to expect a four week turnaround. From what I have read, a refurbishment should be between $250-$350 and they totally disassemble it and refurbish everything needed. I can’t wait to get it back and will update how it goes. Already communication has been great from step one.

Yeah I have no control over how it was obtained and I got it and no way to verify just as they don’t. I am sure it won’t be an issue. They are just stating it on record.

Absolutely. I took external pictures and video and will post a comparison upon receipt in addition to internal optics and range report.

I just had Trijicon replace some night sights on a slide that I sent in. A bargain for $57, including the return shipping. Only glitch was that my slide and another guy's slide got mixed up in shipping out and we received each other's. Trijicon made it right, though, and sent both of us Next Day Air labels to get the slides to their respective owners. Despite this, the quality of the work was outstanding.

Good luck.

I bought a NSN-numbered Trijicon optic. I called the factory to see how old the tritium was, anticipating it would soon need replacement. The person stated that this model was for government use only. I too would be interested in your outcome.

I bought a used ACOG years ago and it looked used but worked great. I thought the dot was weak so I contacted them about the problem. They sent me a authorization to send it in.
I sent it in and it was returned in a few weeks.
They disassembled it and cleaned it up but said the tritium was still within spec. No charge for the S&H both ways and the cleaning.
Hard to find a company now a days with this kind of customer service.
I will always consider Trijicon first for any upcoming optic buys.

Two years ago I had my Trij 226 vials replaced by sending in the slide. All went very smoothly for a bargain price of $57. That was somewhere in the Pistol pages.

At that time they told me they could check my ACOG w/test first, restore it for $350 if it needed tritium. Outstanding service.

Today I received the refurbishment quote. $371 to replace the prism assembly, reset the parallax, replace the external adjusters, and replace the adjuster spring assembly. Tomorrow I will call to authorize and pay for it.

That is what I thought. It will basically be like a brand new unit.
