I have been using Ivory bar soap for at least 40 years. I wear contacts, and our water here is soft and it’s hard to rinse off completely. I don’t want fragrance or lotion residue on my hands. Or anywhere for that matter.

I am not sensitive to soaps- doesn’t make me break out or anything. I can use whatever is available when traveling. But I prefer just good soap. No fragrances, no lotions.

I just ran out of my Ivory and bought some “original” from Walmart. It is no longer unscented. And from some quick research there are lots of complaints online about P&G changing the formula.

Can anyone recommend a bar soap that is just soap? No fragrances or lotions built in?

What did you find when you Googled "Just Soap"?

My dermatologist gave me a thumbs-up on Dove unscented.

Can't help with the commercial stuff. I've been making my own for 10+ years now and it's really quite easy to do. Some oil/fat, water, and lye. Essential oil scents if you want them...which you don't.

The Dove and scented still seems to have moisurizers added, which I’m trying to avoid.

I wear contacts and have been using Dr. Bronners pure Castile soap both at the sink and in the shower for a couple of decades without any issue. I use the peppermint variety and have never found it to irritate my eyes after a thorough rinse. I mix about a 10% to water ratio and dispense it from a recycled foaming style container which really stretches it out over an extremely long time. The foaming action seems to both clean thoroughly and rinse easily without leaving residue. Another benefit is no need for a messy soap dish. I haven’t used bar soap in a very long time.

my wife is sensitive to smells so we use Dove exfoliating soap. Its really good!

I used it for a long time too, and noticed that the bars had gotten very light almost like they were adding air or something to them and they shrank a lot in size

Dove or Neutrogena is a good alternative

I've used pretty much exclusively Dr.Bronners for years.

I like their sugar scrub soap for showering but it's good for body and hair.

Kirk's Castille. It's made from coconuts but is unscented. I use the liquid now, the bar soap sometimes had coconut shell in it.

How much THC is in the hemp soap?

Shameless plug for my wife's fragrance free, dye free artisan soap. She has made and sold this for about 15 years. She has a number of options including an "Outdoors Person" variety with charcoal and jewelweed.

This. I get packs at Costco.

On the scented side, I love that orange Dr. Bronner’s liquid soap. It doesn’t leave me smelling orangey and leaves no residue.

Like Fredward, I favor Kirk's Castille and, like him, I now favor the liquid. And, no, we don't shower together. I prefer, and my body and skin seems to like plain old unscented soap, so that's what I use.

When I saw this thread I figured the root cause was another product line shifted to 'plant based' soap.

Another vote for Kirk’s Castile. Very refreshing.

Ugh. This sucks to hear. I too use Ivory original soap that is supposed to have no lotions or scents to it. I bought in bulk but will have to buy again soon so I guess I will be following suggestions.
