I, like other members here, went through this with a parent. My mother had a prepared "final directives" document, that included "no extraordinary measures" were to be taken in her health care. Two years ago my mother was admitted to a hospice, she passed away peacefully less than a week later. She was a few months shy of 97. Try to take comfort in understanding that your mother's wishes are being followed, and that she loves you. | |||

Prayers being said for you, your Mom and other hurting people. I as well had a similar thing with my Mom and then a few years later my Dad, so I know how painful this is. As an aside, one of the things my Dad told me before it got real, real bad, was; Getting old ain't for sissies. True that. I am so sorry. | |||

Caring for a loved one, and later losing them, is one of the most humbling and emotional experiences a person can go through. This difficult journey can't be fully described and must be experienced. Censored, I pray for your mother, for you, and for your family. I pray that your mother is as comfortable as possible. We are there for them, in many cases, as they were there for us. My condolences and prayers. I went through somewhat similar conditions with my mom some years ago and understand a little of what you are experiencing. It is not for the faint of heart. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth | |||

I was with my father for sixteen hours prior to his death. I was terrible experience but I was really glad I was there. Best wishes for you. | |||

Sorry you are going through this. I went through a similar thing except sister & her husband were basically stealing from her. | |||
