Mine stays in the box -- recall happens, I can spot what needs to be worked on. If you pour it loose, how can you tell which is bad? ______________________________ Stupid people are like glo-sticks. I want to shake the shit out of them till the light comes on

By buying by the case, and sticking a cut off box flap in with the loose rounds. That's what I do with factory loads that I buy in bulk. I also keep my military surplus ammo loose in ammo cans. (Well, the stuff that's not already in a sealed spam can.) No chance of a recall on those, after all these years. "Hallo, Herr RogueJSK? Zis is Hans from ze Deutsche Wehrmacht. Ve are calling you today as ve have you listed as ze owner of ein devective batch of 7.92x57mm ammunition frum 1943. Ve must inzist zat you return zis ammo to ze factory for immediate dispozal und replacement. Pleaze hold as ve connect you to ze warehaus shipping department fur ein prepaid label." *cue Der Panzerlied hold music*

If its in a hermetically sealed can, add dessicant. The military packs it that way for bunker storage. Absorbs the humidity that gets trapped and reduces condensation on the rounds. Cardboard boxes can suck up a lot of humidity sitting in the air and accelerate corrosion. Once packed, cool low humidity storage is recommended. Basements not so much - LOW humidity. Rusting cans are no fun either.

I leave it in the original boxes. It’s much lighter and easy to stack or keep track of what you have. Plus’s when going to the range I like to throw a few boxes in my range bag instead of carrying an additional heavy ammo can with way more ammo than I will shoot in a session. I do have some loose in an ammo can but they are reloads and for whatever reason never get used.

Out of the boxes and in plastic bags. So bulk, then in ammo cans. Works well for me. Space is multiplied with out the boxes. Easy decision. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

I have to run a dehumidifier. "Pacifism is a shifty doctrine under which a man accepts the benefits of the social group without being willing to pay - and claims a halo for his dishonesty." ~Robert A. Heinlein
