I hadnt seen the video. The reporter quoted in the KSL article sounds like an idiot. Seems like a good shoot to me!

It looked like about 100 cops involved in that shoot. Did they bring enough men?

anyone else worried that the backstop was a store with glass windows? Or am I overthinking this?

That was the first thing I thought about. If I was in a building that a truck smashed into, I would probably walk out front to investigate. Not a good idea this time!

15 officers on paid leave following shooting

SALT LAKE CITY — Fifteen officers from three agencies have been placed on administrative leave as a result of a fatal officer-involved shooting in South Salt Lake Monday morning.

Ten officers from the Salt Lake City Police Department and two from the Unified Police Department were placed on leave, as well as three Utah Highway Patrol troopers. The officers were placed on administrative leave pending official review, according to an inter-agency statement Tuesday.

Harold Vincent Robinson, 37, of West Valley City, was killed in the shooting. He had previously led officers on a pursuit down State Street from Salt Lake City to South Salt Lake after reports he had shot at the Sheridan Hotel in Salt Lake City Monday morning, police said. Nobody was hurt in that shooting

Police said Robinson was suspected in two robberies less than an hour before the shooting at the hotel.

This story will be updated as soon as more information is made available.

That truck would make a great Farmers Insurance commercial … because they've seen a thing or two.

I'm certain that there were a few "LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS" thrown in there too, but it was difficult to hear because apparently none of them know how to turn off their sirens.

It’s a bad habit but it keeps you breathing. I have a bad habit of screaming stop resisting even after I’ve got the person cuffed.

Most criminals know the drill. Show me your hands and get on the ground. Police language seems pretty universal throughout the United States. The other phrase that gets uttered alot is "real quick".

As I was watching it I was thinking that were I the first guy in I'd be more concerned with getting shot in the back than I would the front, lol. But all kidding aside, I say it was a job well done and I don't care how many cops have to sit on how many casings.

Full pay but that is actually reduced pay since all of us work OT out the ass so we don't have to live where we police and we can't work OT while on admin leave.

Our officers as a whole have refused to cooperate with our D.A. We speak to the local agency detectives but we don't allow an extra interview for the D.A. Our D.A. has dragged out some officer involved shootings for over a year. 6 month clearance times are the norm for our asshat D.A. and that is with the most clear cut shootings.
