I find the "People's House" point of argument trite an sophomoric. Mostly a virtual signaling cry. Such is typical of leftest stirring up shit, rather than a real and concerned position. The "idea" that the White House is the "People's House" and that the POTUS is simply a "tenant/guest" at the pleasure of the people for a term, is a truism, the majority use of the idiom has become weak and no more than political chum. We have much greater problems and issues than to be distracted by such lowbrow distractions. The next tenet We the People... select to occupy, will likely fail to match carpet and the drapes to everyone's likling. And I won't care any more for that than I do the gilded whatever. This is the same argument Democrats make about Trump's other remodels for the WH, a place that has always been a symbol of opulence and excellence in America, no matter who occupies it. Those who have the opposite view would likely celebrate the trashcan look of the Obama Center. Hegseth ousted top military strategist from Pentagon, sources say The move leaves the Joint Staff without an immediate replacement as officials say Hegseth lost confidence in Sylvia. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth fired the Pentagon's chief military planner, Gen. Brett Sylvia, earlier this week with no replacement named for the position overseeing strategy and policy for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Sylvia is the latest in at least 26 generals and admirals forced out under Hegseth's tenure. Officials told The Atlantic the removals often involve past work on policies Hegseth views as "woke," such as diversity efforts. Hegseth ordered a 20% cut to the roughly 800 flag and general officer positions by Jan. 1, 2027. Sylvia, formerly commander of the 101st Airborne Division, is the second officer removed from the J5 role this year. Sen. Mark Kelly, a former Navy combat pilot, criticized the dismissals as a "purge" that will take years to recover from, arguing Hegseth holds deep-seated grievances regarding military leadership. The shakeup occurs as President Donald Trump weighs renewed military action against Iran after next week's elections, though U.S. Central Command has prepared various operational options without final approval. https://ground.news/article/he...n-sources-say_357114 BUT!!!!!! And there's more... https://x.com/EricLDaugh/status/2115954679683444835 AND SO THERE IT IS. Hegseth and Trump are PURGING the leakers! Now, PROSECUTE. He allegedly met one reporter at a Silver Diner in Arlington and read off notes from a classified report on U.S. aid to Ukraine ‼️ Officials also suspect he deliberately wiped a Signal thread with another reporter about Iran. Sylvia, the Joint Staff's top military planner, reportedly confessed on video after FAILING four polygraph tests! The Pentagon has referred the case to the DOJ for possible prosecution. The media fearmongered when Hegseth started cleaning house, and now we know why he did it! @PeteHegseth did the right thing here. We don't want these people near our national security. ____________________________________________________________ If Some is Good, and More is Better.....then Too Much, is Just Enough !! Why? Isn't this a UCMJ issue? Giving it to the DOJ seems like it'll only accomplish drawing the process out for years only to have it thrown out by some leftist judge. ________________________________________________________ It is long past time for a Convention of States. This has been going on for decades: so-called military "heroes" seeking their 10 minutes of fame, and perhaps a substantial financial payday along the way. It's remarkable how quickly we put certain individuals on pedestals and celebrate them as heroes without examining their actions, motives, or the consequences of their conduct. Military service deserves respect. But it should never provide immunity from accountability. Some people we glorify as heroes may deserve a court-martial and prosecution rather than public adoration. Being in uniform doesn't automatically make someone a hero. _________________________

I transferred out of Army counterintelligence a long time ago and don’t know what current policies and practices might be. At one time, however, it was understood that even though Army CI had theoretical jurisdiction over “national security crimes” (including espionage) committed by Army personnel, if it was a bona fide case in the US the FBI would assume the investigation, if for no other reason than their much greater experience with such cases. As strange as it obviously seems to many people, taking serious action against defendants in any sort of criminal case requires proper investigations to determine all the relevant facts. Sloppy investigations are a common reason for why the guilty get off. “He’s guilty! String him up,” is satisfying but that sort of mythical “frontier” justice has been demonstrated countless times to be no justice at all. And of course it’s only when it’s someone we don’t like that we’re the ones eager to grab the rope. When it’s the other side doing it to one of our guys, then it’s wailing and gnashing of teeth about how unfair it is. “Most men … can seldom accept the simplest and most obvious truth if it … would oblige them to admit the falsity of conclusions … which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabrics of their lives.” — Leo Tolstoy

^^^^^^ In this case, he confessed. He's proud of it. Get a rope. ________________________________________________________ It is long past time for a Convention of States. The Founding Fathers gave us this tool to fix an out of control government and we need to use it.

I realize I am just helping with the stroking, but in the unlikely event that anyone is actually interested in the law, under the provisions of the UCMJ, confessions without corroborating evidence—i.e., what investigations develop—are not sufficient for convictions. In addition, confessions in criminal cases get recanted all the time. Both of which are partially because many confessions are false. And of course I am not saying this man is not guilty of the offense(s) he’s charged with. As I mentioned in another thread, we who are not judges or jury members aren’t required to have legal proof to draw reasonable conclusions, but courts do at least sometimes like to follow the law. If we are concerned that the case may not result in the proper outcome, the possibility of losing it because of sloppy or improper procedures should also be of concern. “Most men … can seldom accept the simplest and most obvious truth if it … would oblige them to admit the falsity of conclusions … which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabrics of their lives.” — Leo Tolstoy
