I thought this was an amazing State of the Union and I am so proud of what Trump is and has been doing for our country.

It is very telling that on social media sites like Facebook despite making sure I typed each letter in my sentences correctly, they messed it up if it was pro-Trump and I had to correct it MULTIPLE times. I tried it anti-Trump and the wording worked fine but of course I didn’t post it. Either way, my social media is fake but it just goes to show which side Facebook is on, but that is no surprise to us.

It was a great night.

- Very happy to see the hockey team in Washington. I remember '80 and I've reconnected with that pride again.
- Ilha Omar's face when he called out "the Somali pirates who ransacked Minnesota."
-Trumps general call out of all the Dems that do not put America first. I think the Democrats really truly lost respect and votes from the country on that one.
-The General giving the MOH to Eric Slover. That guy has sacrificed for our country. My first thought was, I'd like to see Trump give it personally, but we all know where it comes from. Trump is there and it's an honor for the General to get to award it.
-Melania giving the MOH to 100 year old Roy Williams. I heard his story last week. He was commanded to keep his dogfight against Russian MIGs quiet for 50 years and he did.

The defining moment last night, a brilliant move by Trump. In a couple of minutes, he showed those in the country who may not pay attention to political stuff, the Democrats true colors.

To me, he was most effective when he mentioned things that 90% of all Americans support and asked everybody to stand. The he pointed out that the Democrats wouldn't stand because he supported it.

Back story on that Naval aviator who got the MOH. The dogfight was so classified he wasn't even allowed to tell his wife for years:

quote:

On Nov. 18, 1952, Williams was a Navy lieutenant flying a F9F-5 Panther. He and three other naval aviators were over the Sea of Japan when they spotted seven Soviet MiG-15 fighters that had launched from an airfield near Vladivostok and had been ordered to attack the American planes, according to the Navy.

Two of the Navy planes were ordered to return to their aircraft carrier, USS Oriskany, leaving just Williams and his wingman. Over the course of the next 35 minutes, Williams took on the MiGs in the longest dogfight in Navy history.

Four of the MiGs jumped the two Navy Panthers, but Williams opened fire with his guns and hit one of the Soviet jets. His wingman followed the damaged MiG as the remaining Soviet fighters joined the battle. That meant Williams was now alone and facing six enemy aircraft.

The Soviet fighters were faster and more maneuverable than his Panther, but he had a better gunsight system than the MiGs. Williams flew several tight turns, firing brief bursts at the Soviet planes as they came into his sights. He ended up firing all 760 of his 20mm rounds, downing two more MiGs and damaging a third that later crashed.

One of the MiGs hit William’s Panther with a 37mm cannon round that tore into his wing and peppered his plane with more than 250 smaller shrapnel holes. As Williams coaxed his badly damaged fighter back to the Oriskany, two Navy destroyers accidentally fired on him, but they missed. He managed to put his plane down on the carrier despite rough seas and having to come into the landing much faster than normal to keep his Panther airborne.

For decades after Williams’ dogfight, the U.S. government kept secret the fact that signals intelligence had confirmed the seven enemy jets were Soviet aircraft being vectored by Soviet ground controllers...

Navy pilot to receive Medal of Honor nearly 75 years after shooting down 4 MiGs --- Retired Navy Capt. Royce Williams downed four Soviet MiGs during the Korean War in the longest dogfight in Navy history.

Great to see him shake hands with Fetterman on the walk up. Nice shot across the dems bow. Just one undeniable success after another. "Somali pirates"- that had to stick in omar's craw. He just calmly and deliberately delivered blow after blow to the commies in congress. Maybe his best SOTU to date.

Any word on why only 4 from the Supreme Court showed up. If it was mentioned I missed it.
Thanks,
Rod

In recent years, it’s typical that only four or five showed up. Thomas hasn’t shown up in ages. Alito has similarly been absent. Not a surprise that KJB and the Wise Latina skipped. They hate his gut.

Not that I had any prior knowledge. I noticed the same thing last night and went digging. And that’s what I found.

What the DemonRats really need is to be physically drug into the chamber, lined up, and one by one bent over and spanked with a paddle as an out of line child used to be in school. The embarrassment would be a greater punishment than the wallops. Sadly, that isn’t going to happen.

Clearly, the right answer is to make the most political hay out of their childish behavior. One approach would be to call them out individually. Another might be to make an offhand remark at some point in the evening either that one expects the event to go better or that the event did go better (depending on the timing) since the petulant children stayed home. Still another approach would be to ignore them completely and not even mention their absence.

I’d be willing to bet that PDJT and his advisors have carefully weighed these options and likely many others and will choose the approach deemed most appropriate in PDJT’s opinion. Given his track record of playing the Democrats like a master with a violin, I have complete faith that PDJT will make the right choice, likely a better one than would have occurred to me. I certainly don’t need to argue with my invisible friends about what POTUS should do.

It has been obvious for a long time that the Democrats have no moral compass, care only for themselves, detest the country and its citizens and more than anything detest Trump because he values what they detest. Attempting to shame them because of this is an exercise in futility as they have no idea what shame is. Trump put them on spot but I honestly do not believe it had any real or lasting effect on them. As for people watching it may have had an effect on a few but most minds have been solidly made up for quite some time and nothing is going to change them.

This post is spot on- Trump explained to the world watching last night who the country's enemy is, and did so with their own actions. It is not futile, it is not all for nothing.

The State of the Union address was historic. President Trump explained to the world that our enemy was sitting in the room with him - and he looked them right in the eyes as he was exposing them. This isn’t divisive politics, as the television will try to tell you. This is much bigger than that. This was about exposing the criminals who have enslaved us for decades, while enriching themselves off the backs of the hard working American people. No more. We’ve never seen anyone like this before. We are so grateful. History is being made. God Bless President Trump. God Bless America
