rvbgtrCougar/Mt. Lion/ Florida panther confirmation? Update click link Bob cat
Saw one of those in Osceola National Forrest just south of the Fla / Ga state line heading to a tree stand early in the morning about 20 years ago. First thought was: "That's a big bobcat." Second thought: "Why is that tail so long." Then it dawned on me that it was a panther or cougar. I'd heard that e several cougars released in the area years ago as part of a repopulation effort.

MicropterusI initially thought it was a cougar, too. But after looking at other photos, I think it's a bobcat, now, too. The lack of body coloration is a explained by subtle coloration and taking a picture with IR flash. It is just not going to capture subtle color variations. Also, the lanky appearance is explained by a thinner southern coat of fur.

vinnybassYeah, I gotta change my mind too, from the scale that feeder provides. I judged it by the ears, but they may not have photographed clearly. The hind quarters don't seem to have that bobcat rise, but that may also be the perspective of the photo.
