Lather. Rinse. Repeat. More fun in Chicago 2018 stats 57 shot across Chicago in weekend gun violence Five people were killed and 52 others wounded in weekend shootings throughout Chicago. Eighteen people were shot Friday evening after 5 p.m., 18 were shot Saturday, and 21 were shot Sunday and no one was shot Monday before 5 a.m. A single shooting Friday wounded seven people, including a 3-year-old boy in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. Most of the group was on a sidewalk about 8 p.m. when shots rang out in the 1600 block of West 65th Street, according to Chicago police. The 3-year-old was shot in the left shin and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where his condition stabilized. A 30-year-old man was in serious condition after he was shot in his back, police said. Paramedics took four other men, ranging from age 26 to 30, to local hospitals, where they were treated for their gunshot wounds. A 38-year-old woman standing in a nearby backyard was grazed by a stray bullet in the left arm, police said. She was treated on the scene and released. On Sunday, Daquan Albright, 17, was shot and killed in West Englewood, and 20-year-old Tyrone Marshall died after he was shot in his head as he was leaning on a car and talking with his friend in Bronzeville, police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said. Just after 8 a.m. that morning, 33-year-old Dennis Thomas Jr. was sitting in a vehicle in Uptown when someone rode up on a bicycle and shot him several times, according to authorities. Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene. He lived in the same block where he was shot. A robbery turned into a shootout early Sunday in West Garfield Park when the target of the robbery pulled out his own gun and fired back, police said. He was shot in the leg and was seriously wounded. The would-be robber ran away. In addition to the shootings reported over the weekend, two teenage boys were found shot to death late Sunday in the Golden Gate neighborhood on the Far South Side, according to police. The boys were discovered in a wooded area between a park and Aldridge Elementary School shortly before midnight, police said. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Police were unsure when the shooting occurred. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office hasn’t released details about their deaths. P229

Peace through superior firepower ![]() |
They're never going to solve this because they refuse to identify the actual issue. Rahm Emmanuel committed the cardinal sin of getting within the vicinity of the issue (he doesn't have it quite right, but it's astonishing that this commie dolt had a moment of clarity at all) and he's being crucified. So, they're never- never- going to fix this. They can march for peace, block traffic, throw taxpayer money at the issue, pass even more stringent gun control laws, and none of it will have the slightest effect, because they are incapable of acknowledging the truth of the matter. ____________________________________________________ "I am your retribution." - Donald Trump, speech at CPAC, March 4, 2023

The problem started in 1964 when Lynden Johnson initiated his "War on Poverty" pure and simple. Free housing, welfare and food stamps. Todays culture in Chicago stems from the dems. clinging to these programs. It won't go away anytime soon as long as liberals keep their power hold on Chicago policies. The following idiots are living in denial:
So it's white people making blacks and Hispanics shoot each other? I've heard some dumb shit. One of the dumbest "ideas" I heard was from a black guy claiming the government is dropping off "full auto machine guns" in black neighborhoods so they can kill each other. ![]()
How is that misspoken? Are the Chinese in Chinatown shooting each other up?
Heard another dumb ass idea like this from a guy I went to high school with. He said they need to distribute the money around the city. I told the idiot why they should do that. It's improbable from a logistics standpoint. Transportation and infrastructure is built to do business downtown, not on the south or west sides. But then again, this is an idiot with a BS in electrical engineering and a JD yet doesn't practice law and at 40 years old still lives with his mom having never moved out... Why would businesses invest in those shithole communities when they have to constantly worry about being robbed, stolen from or burned down when a cop justifiably shoots JaQuan for fighting the poleece? _____________

It is hopeless. The politicians and the local news media are all in bed with each other. I watched the early news this morning on local CBS,they spent about 5 seconds reporting the number of shootings this weekend then immediately went to a lengthy segment on the suicide of a black teen, but implying that it was a covered up police shooting.

Rahm: "Critics quickly called him out for what they dubbed tone-deaf comments, in which he seemed to be blaming the victims." Well, duh, if no one will talk, including victims (and victim families), then start blaming them. They're not helping. ========================================== Just my 2¢ ____________________________ Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right ♫♫♫
