How to scrap/dispose of an old car?
If its running I would think you could get $1,000 for it.

That's worth the effort IMO to sell it locally as-is.

Yeah any -running- car and I use the term loosely is worth at least 1000$ cash. Fully disclosed in the craigslist ad I’d bet you would have any number of shade tree mechanic guys come by and buy it off you. I’d rather have cash than a tax donation that’s just me. About 10 years ago before they changed he tax law I donated an old dead beater. Kbb.com served as my donation value. Now you have to wait till the charity wholesale it to get the deductible value.

Or the local hi school auto shop. They still have that anymore ?

Drive/tow it to El Paso. Park it on any street. 24 hours it'll be gone.

Don't slow down. If you're scared don't show it.
You might get out before the devil even knows you're there.

Another option: call your local OD or Sheriff’s Office abd ask to speak with the head Range Master. They’d likely be interested in a car they could shoot a bunch of holes into and deal with disposal once they’re done.

I like this idea. Does the car move under its own power, steer and stop? Then it's worth at least a grand. If the A/C is cold, add $500. Big Grin Alternatively, if you're planning to buy a new car to replace it, sometimes dealers will give you an enhanced trade-in as part of the deal.

If it runs you can easily get 1k for it in Texas. If not the biggest issue will be making sure the title is transferred out of your name. You can notify the state online when you get rid of that it’s sold and who you sold it to. That way if they fix it you are not liable for any tickets or tolls. Good luck.

This is how an extremely vengeful person gets rid of a junker - register it in the name of someone you hate, take it to the airport, park it, take a cab home, and monitor the news until the inevitable occurs.

Whatever shape that car is in is probably better than half the cars I see around here.

Donate it to Vehicles for Veterans. Running, or not, they will come and get it.

Or donate it, to the charity you wish.
This, and it's a Toyota. It'll move easily. Price it cheap, but more than scrap and it'll be gone tomorrow and you'll have enough cash to get that new TV!
