With the pine cone as a size reference, those feathers are a good size. This is a complete guess, but I would think from a hawk of some type.

Don’t forget that a lot of immature birds are molting into the adult plumage about now and those immature feathers will be drab, therefore might be misleading when it comes to id.

While that’s true, what immature bird in America would have 10” long secondary feathers? Bald Eagles go from fairly consistent color to really mottled to what we think of as Bald Eagles as adults. Here’s a one year old Bald Eagle in front of our house:



I believe hawks is correct; turkey vulture because of the light colored underside.
