Nah, not for me.

However, when you get old like I am, it doesn't matter what others think...if you like it wear it.

I'm an old geezer who is follicle challenged, and have had skin cancer removed from my face...I wear hats that are similar to yours. Wear it in good health!

Nice hat at a great price. Looks like it will be ideal for your trip and beyond.

One warning about hats, they propagate. I started with a Tilley clone that is still going strong and has been joined by some Tilley, Filson and Outdoor Research hats over the last 30 years. One loses the "hat anxiety" over time. However, friends and family will still make comments.

Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?

I believe that SF member Bald1 would approve. See his CUT.

Being more safe is the first priority and being cost-effective is even better.

I have been looking at Stetson straw hats. Interesting models are Open Road, Panama, Gambler, and Digger.

Many years ago my work gave me an Uncle Buck hat every year.
I would wear it to tease my kids but Damn, it was warm!

Model it so we can be sure!
Seriously, it’s a perfect travel hat.

I don’t wear hats well- or I make bad choices, I guess. My husband and son always make fun. Ignore it- it’s keeping you healthy AND stylish.

At 69, I've had about 4 pre-cancer growths taken off my ears. Sun is the cause they said.

Ball cap guy all my life but they don't shade your ears.

Trying some like yours for grass mowing and extended out door work

I wear a khaki boonie hat in public now and DGAF what people think. It's that or skin cancer on my bald head.

I'm 52 and tried the baseball cap thing but it just doesn't give me enough sun protection for my neck and ears.

A hat never looks as bad or costs as much as having a hunk carved out of your ear (or scalp) to remove a skin cancer.

“I wear a khaki boonie hat in public now and DGAF what people think.”

That’s what I wear, too. People in Jerkwater hardly recognize me without my khaki Boonie.

It's a great hat! Wear it proudly. If you are gong to dress the way your kids think is right, you will be one strange looking dude. Eek

I've got a similar Tilley but it just has a band of mesh at the top of the crown. Wore it all over during a mediterranean cruise. Had a hawker in Sicily yell out, "Hey, Indiana Jones!" That's a good enough endorsement for me.

I wear a very similar hat with a slightly wider brim. I never need sunscreen and never get sun burned. I wish mine had some mesh in it for better ventilation. That style is actually becoming quite popular for golf.

I have a similar hat that I wear hiking or working in the yard here in AZ, and when out and about in the Caribbean. Sunburn and/or skin cancer is no joke.
