I put Noco trickle chargers on my trucks. They mount to the engine bay. The pos/neg wires go to the battery and a standard plug hangs out the grille. I just plug in if the truck is going to sit for a few months. I doubt you’ll develop flat spots on your tires.

Similar to what I did after rupturing my achilles last fall knowing I wouldn't be able to drive or walk for 10ish weeks.

I gave a trusted neighbor my spare set of keys. It was a win-win as he doesn't own a truck. About once a week he'd either:

drive it to HD, Lowes, etc. and enjoyed throwing purchases in the bed instead of the trunk of his car or the wife's minivan.

throw lawn chairs, popup shades, etc. in the bed and the wife and him would drive it to their kids' sporting events (kids old enough to drive and went separate).

For that new a vehicle just park and go, if he battery is over 3 years old then the Noco, Battery Tender, one of the models you put under the hood with the plug hanging out the grill is probably a good thing since an older battery without any charging cycles and the normal draw of electronics may drag an older battery down.

Other than that, newer battery, just fill the tank, make sure it's fully charged and park it.

What 3 months and where is it being stored.
If over the winter in Mass then likely a trickle charger and maybe a cover, if atlanta and in a garage then do nothing.

No problem. I put my Porsche to bed every early Winter and don’t do anything but put it on a battery tender and inflate the low profile tires up to the max sidewall pressure.

Number one concern is mice for me, I can’t stomach the smell of mothballs so last I used Grandpa Gus Mouse repellent, a bunch of them. They worked but it was my last layer of defense. Also used a bucket type that drowns them in antifreeze, poisoned mice in the car is worse than the mothballs. Second is a battery maintainer, they monitor your battery and will shut down or charge as needed. Burn out every vestige of oxygenated fuel then top off with non oxy fuel fortified with a stabilizer, I buy mine from the local marina.

The Galaxie spends about 5 months every year stored. A cover is a good way to trap moisture I was advised to avoid one.

1) Trickle charge using quick disconnect to battery terminals
2) Add fuel stabilizer to ethanol free gas
3) Wash and wax before storage
4) Mount a wireless camera in the garage, pop the hood , put the trickle charger on and make sure it is direct view of the camera
5) Change the oil on a yearly basis-not on mileage

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. The first three months will be Aug, Sept and Oct in Mass, then Jan, Feb, March, also in Mass...in a somewhat heated garage. I have had mice in this garage and currently have bait stations in place.

Based on everything you've mentioned, I'll use a battery tender and will inflate tires to their upper range. I have a great neighbor who will check it periodically and would probably take it for a spin occasionally if I asked him to.

Check with your auto insurance agent about suspending the liability, uninsured motorist , rental car policy on a garaged car. "Snowbird policy" that the southern state agent will be familiar with.

My 67 Pontiac is garaged from the first snowfall, usually late October but sometimes as late as December and doesn’t get out until after the spring rains, got to wash the salt off the roads.

Battery Tender, uncovered. Mouse repellents inside the passenger compartment, under the hood and in the trunk. Poison baits around the garage, two years ago Mickey and his friends got into it and nested in the headliner and used the sunshades as urinals. All said and done, about 2k in damages covered by my insurance.

I don’t use a car cover. This year since I put new tires on it will possibly put it on jackstands. Change the oil and filterat the end of the season and off to slumberland.
