^^^ Right and I like that cell phone pocket a lot. I just looked and see the pocket comes to less then an inch from the hem.

You could just buy a bunch of 5-11 shorts, then have them hemmed at a local tailor. Probably $20 a pair and you can get them exactly the length you want.

Why pay a tailor? Judging by the fact that you want a knife pocket, I assume you own a knife...

That means you're 30 seconds away from a custom shorty-short inseam.

Eek OK...some of the foregoing is gonna make me wash my eyes out with bleach.

Barring that, I have found that buying shorts for tennis is a bitch unless you want to spend $50+ on some woke brand name. No thank you...not me!! The "standard" 9" inseam is too long...just give me a decent 7-8" short that fits well for $25 or less. IDGAS what brand it is...

I think you and I bought the same Vertx sellout. LA Police Gear had them for cheap, I thought it was like 8 bucks a pair. I bought a dozen or so in various colors. I still have a stack in my closet in the wrapper. Great pants but I need to drop a little weight to wear them so brand new they shall stay. lol

Funny you say that about tennis shorts. I literally have played in basketball shorts with pockets since high school (4 decades ago). I still do. The length has never bothered me in the slightest. I haven't paid for "real" tennis shorts ever in my memory. It fits my tennis grey man persona perfectly.

Looking for some Tactical Booty Shorts? Some Dadbod Daisy Dukes?

All kidding aside, I don't think I've ever seen anything but gym shorts in a 7" or less inseam.

9"+ inseam is the norm for casual wear shorts with pockets and features like you're describing.

You guys weren't around in the '70s when we wore gym shorts and cut offs that short. Only old geezers and squares wore long, Bermuda shorts.

You a likely quite right on price. I just remember they were silly cheap and I bought 10 pair. I still have 3 in the plastic myself.

Maybe we need to have a slim and trim competition to see who can fit in them again first!

There are others that might work as well.

How are the pockets I have a Kuhl jacket I got for stupid cheap $15 instead of $150. I think a few others here got the same deal and others got their orders cancelled.
While it is a great jacket I almost never wear it because my hands are what bigger than the pockets.

I got one of those jackets too and the pockets are ridiculous! But the shorts have normal sized pockets.

Go to Academy Sports. Their house brand is BCG and I have 4 pairs of their shorts with a 5" inseam and liner. Very comfortable. I paid around $20/pair. I like a short inseam, it's just more comfortable. If I wanted a long inseam, I'll just wear pants.
