not to be disrespectful to the anthem, but to remove ourselves from the circumstance.

Winner winner chicken dinner you useless tool. That's the end game. The anthem is on it's way out. Not be in public display anywhere ever again. It has now been politicized and made too controversial to be heard in any public gathering or to be broadcast to the masses.

That's where this was always meant to end. No more national anthem. By the Steelers taking the pussy way out just pushes it closer. It's not the players fault it's that the anthem exists. That's the problem.

Bingo. Once again the leftists win because un-American cowards refuse to stand up and be the bosses they claim to be. One look at a kneeling player tells you exactly who runs the organization. And it's not the guy who signs the checks.

A team official confirmed the news, which was first reported by CBS' Jamie Erdahl, who spoke to coach Mike Tomlin before the game.

"We're not going to play politics," Tomlin told Erdahl. "We're football players, we're football coaches. We're not participating in the anthem today -- not to be disrespectful to the anthem, but to remove ourselves from the circumstance.

"People shouldn't have to choose. If a guy wants to go about his normal business and participate in the anthem, he shouldn't be forced to choose sides. If a guy feels the need to do something, he shouldn't be separated from his teammate who chooses not to."

This is the highest level of selfish, entitled, snowflake, unpatriotic bullshit that I've ever seen.

The playing of the National Anthem and reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance is a demonstration of national unity and acknowledgement that although not perfect this is the greatest country on the planet and shows respect for not only those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect freedom and communities but for those who continue to and have served.

Throwing a personal hissy fit based on a false agenda pushed by a rich foreign national (Soros), a bunch of snot nosed college brats, and lies and untruths propagated by the national media is a slap in the face to an entire country of good people who are sick of this crap.

Isn't that cute, though? According to him, listening to the anthem is "political", but making a point of staying in the locker room so you can't hear the anthem is "staying out of politics".

Sometimes people just up excuses faster than their own common sense can vet what comes out of their mouths.

The end game here is to leave us nothing left worth fighting for. That is how Rome fell. That is what the goal is for those who wish our culture eclipsed by another.

Remember when Rush Limbaugh was not allowed to buy an NFL team?
Should have known from then which side was able to exert more pressure—or just that the other owners were cowards or pussies.

For many years now the left has said we need dialog on race relations. Mostly they wanted us to kow-tow and bow to every minority and made up sexual self image imaginabale. Instead of demanding accountability for your actions no matter what color you are we are to view a particular color as beyond reproach. I understand the game of keeping the poor and colored on the Liberal Plantation for votes. But why must we continually let politicians dictate our mores? It is beyond my ability to reason. "Now" we have a leader that shoves the whole race and what being a American means into the faces of well, everyone. And it makes us do what the Left has said they wanted for years....We be dialoging, a lot!! I just don't think when the dust settles Dialog will work in their favor. Make America Great Again Mr. President.

The Steelers evidently had trouble playing after their gonads were removed. They lost to the bad news Bears.

The nfl either doesn't know or doesn't care that the fan base is predominantly conservative. It's like the democrat party runs the nfl as they do the big 3 networks. Or the nfl is being strong armed.

Hopefully to include not playing. I watched the Eastside Panthers vs. Travis Rebels Friday night. The punter for the Panthers was hit hard. He laid on the field 10 - 20 seconds.
I am sure that he was knocked out. When he stood up he was wobbly and a coach had to walk him off of the field. I figured that high school games might avoid the concussion issue but that kid took a wallop. He did not play in the rest of the game.

Our local news was whining about this and said Trump started it. No, the idiots bringing politics in sports started this.
