Instead of saying someone should call the police, maybe she could have called the police?
Had she done that, by the time the police arrived, the baby would have been wearing the outfit that the random customer had purchased for him. Still not enough clothing given the weather but potentially enough to avoid arrest.
The video provides very strong evidence, including the very words of the child's mother as well as her totally unconcerned attitude regarding the situation.
Invasion of privacy. Glad they were fired. There were many other choices. I believe you can call the cops or the Welfare Dept. What was the intent here? I can only assume posting on the internet. This is a good way to get your ass kicked.

Horse shit. Youtube would have to take down a substantial portion of their content if they considered the publishing of a recording of someone in public to be invasion of privacy.
Child neglect, man. That woman has no regard for her own child. Get your priorities in order, Perry Mason.
Seriously? I would say to see that the proper authorities were made aware of the serious neglect of a child who was totally dependent on others for his care.
The mother encouraged those questioning her parenting to call the police and even stated that they had been called twice previously and then rattled off several criteria which allowed her to get off the hook.
I'm not familiar with WalMart's code of conduct, so this is just speculation. Seems to me like videoing the customer and providing the evidence to the police would be appropriate. Videoing the customer and posting it on the internet, maybe not so much.

We encourage and empower employees...but they must follow the Code of Conduct.
I wonder what line she violated in there. The "mom" is trash.

No, there's no expectation of privacy in a public area, which includes a retail store that's open to the public (with few exceptions, like a restroom or dressing room within).

I think we'd all agree that busy-body Karens telling you how to raise your child is a no-go...up to the point of clear child neglect.
That worthless skank has no business raising a hamster, let alone a toddler.

^^^^^^^^^ Poor choice of words on my part. Minding your own business would be better. I grew up in a major metro area where I was taught to not get involved in such things. The marine in NYC is fighting an involuntary manslaughter charge for restraing a guy. There is store security in Wallmart to deal with this behavior.

“I’m not saying there are underlying mental health issues in her case, but you need to find out her story."
Her "story"?? She's ignorant trash, that's her story. She might be nuts on top of that, who knows, but first and foremost she's ignorant trash, plain and simple.
Tiny little bodies do not have sufficient insulation to tolerate the cold. I'm certain this dim bulb has never even heard of hypothermia, much less be able to spot its warning signs.

It was 20 degrees out. I am thankful that this woman spoke out for a toddler who was clearly in need of a responsible advocate and saw to it that he received the help and attention he so desperately needed.
Not all situations require us to insert ourselves into them. That said, to not do so in this situation would have been a sin of omission in my opinion.
