| If you see me running try to keep up |
I still see good deals weekly on Gunbroker and am still buying when I find things cheap enough. I will enter my max bids and then ignore the auctions until they are done and see how I did. I have gotten some real good deals over the last several months on both new and used on GB on the no reserve auctions. I wanted a different carry gun for church, something small but different than what I have. I was browsing used Kahr pistols (the compact ones) in 40 S&W. 40 has lost it’s charm and nobody seems to want pistols in that cal so I picked up a Kahr PM40 in like new shape for a little over $300. It will be easy to conceal in dress clothes and make a good church pistol. I carry my 365 AXG elsewhere but it is hard to conceal in dress clothes. The 365 with several loaded mags is kept in my gun bag (with ballistic plate inside) inside my vehicle in case it is needed. The good thing is that since 40 is not popular, one of my FFL wholesalers has 40 ammo on clearance. I just placed an order for enough self defense and target ammo to last me for 5-7 years. They have plenty more so I will buy a few boxes every time I place orders from there.

I feel the need, the need for a commander length 1911 and 3 magazines and a holster. I think I will satisfy that need when I get back to Michigan from Florida. The church that I kinda don't belong to anymore is, of course, no guns allowed, and has joined the 'end gun violence by sawing them all in half movement!' So all the senior congregation members are voluntarily giving up their defensive tools by having them cut up in exchange for a gift card! (Sorry for the drift/rant) Best regards, Mark in Michigan

Wow, sorry your church sees it that way. I have never been in one that does not allow firearms.

mrvmax, I do have a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield 2.0 in 9mm that conceals very well using comp-tac MTAC IWB holster and a Beltman belt. I know it's not the .40 cal you want. Best regards, Mark in Michigan

I would be contacting my soon-to-be former church mates and offering them TWO gift cards for unsawn firearms. The church I attended as a child closed several years back, but the school is still there -- not for teaching young catholics any more, they're harboring illegal aliens! On topic, I'm wishing I could find a P-229 in .40 or .357 near-mint or factory rebuild at a give-a-way price! In 2015, I sold off $5000 worth of older firearms, mostly duplicate calibers, in order to put together a down payment on my Kubota. Among them were a Ruger Blackhawk and a Henry Big Boy in .45LC. That left me with a pretty good inventory of .45LC handloads that I wasn't willing to sell for liability reasons. They're still in my stash. I'd like to pick up another .45LC revolver if for no other reason than to burn up the ammo. Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

I keep a short list of things I'd like to have and watch my local state gun board. The market does appear to be a little soft, of course screaming good deals still get snapped up in one day. I picked up an unfired Springfield TRP 1911 today for $500 off list price. I'm pretty excited about that. I buy about 1 deal a year off my local board. About ten years ago I was able to get a few Desert Eagles for around $700 each. Were they cheap? Of course not! I needed a few extra barrels, magazines, grips...

The bottom has fallen out of the gun market. I want to downsize my collection but I am not willing to give the stuff away so I guess I am keeping it all until the market picks up or I die and my wife lets my kids divy it up!

Geez, I look at the H&Ks on GB and don't see any real deals. Fact, the prices seem pretty steep. I got to Guns International and some dealers want all they can get for a basic USP. Only 1 seller there is below $ 900.00 for a USP. It's like I might get one...someday.

Just keep watching, I watch GB Monday through Thursday morning specifically for penny start no reserve auctions that end at odd times. I have found some killer deals and have also seen people who are asking crazy high prices (and those usually have no bids). I think some dealers are unloading inventory on the no reserve auctions and gambling just to get rid of stuff.
