Former U.S. Attorney Brett L. Tolman has slammed the plea deal offered to Hunter Biden by Democrat President Joe Biden’s the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Tolman said: “DOJ is violating its own internal policies on this case.

“The Ashcroft Memo requires they charge the ‘highest provable offense’ and seek consistent sentences with other cases brought by DOJ.

“This prosecution is an absolute laughable joke.

“Thousands have been sent to prison for long terms for the same charges. They are ignoring decades of policy and precedent to seek felonies not misdemeanors and seek sentences within the guideline range.

“The diversion agreement on the felony is offensive to everyone not politically connected who sought diversions and were literally laughed at by DOJ.

“Thousands of people have been prosecuted under Project Safe Neighborhoods by DOJ.

“They brag about getting nearly 5 years of prison time on average for their gun cases.

“If they followed policy, Hunter would be looking at a minimum of 5 years in federal prison.

“But he’s a Biden.

“Take a look at 18 USC 924(c) charges.

“Easy to prove given Hunter was distributed/dealing drugs with a firearm in his possession.

“Such charges were brought against thousands in inner cities across the country for last 20 years.

“Mandatory minimum sentences for all. Except Hunter.

“Since Hunter “brandished” his firearm during the commission of a drug crime, he would be looking at a mand min of 7 years in fed prison.

“DOJ could also add on top and min possession of child pornography if any of the girls were underage, plus on top of that years for tax evasion.

“If DOJ treated Hunter Biden like the thousands of no-names who get prosecuted he would be looking at decades in federal prison.

“Yes, I said decades.

Jonathan Turley said about Hunter Biden’s plea agreement:

“For many, this is gonna look like you ticketed the getaway driver after a bank robbery.”

Many of the 3-letter Fed agencies, starting with the DOJ, need to be scuttled in whole by the next President.

I don't give a shit what cases, investigations or other matters would fall apart. The level of corruption, biases, ignorance and just plan stupidity is so off the charts that the American public no longer trusts any of it.

W/o trust there's no respect and without respect & support of the law (namely The Constitution), we have no country.

What has our country become, some kind of two-bit tin-pot dictatorship? (With a true "potato head" ostensibly running it.) Idi Amin could take a lesson.

Not that druggies shouldn't have the right to defend themselves, but the lack of enforcement on the gun charge exposes the worst elements of the hegemony's hypocrisy. If it were a political "enemy" facing this kind of accusation, the administration would be screaming for their head and balls on a platter. Ooooh, a gun! Evil! Evil! Evil! What is this foul taste in my mouth?

Five Years Later…. DOJ Reaches Sweetheart Plea Deal With Hunter Biden – Two Misdemeanor IRS Tax Charges, Diversion for Federal Gun Crime

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware has given a sweet deal to Hunter Biden. Joe Biden’s son will plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax charges, and a federal gun charge. The gun charge will be deferred by a division program where Hunter promises to be a better person. The two tax charges will result in a slap on the wrist.

According to a statement from Hunter Biden’s attorney, “With the announcement of two agreements between my client, Hunter Biden, and the Unites States Attorney’s Office for the District of Delaware, it is my understanding that the five-year investigation into Hunter is resolved.”

“Hunter will take responsibility for two instances of misdemeanor failure to file tax payments when due pursuant to a plea agreement. A firearm charge, which will be subject to a pretrial diversion agreement and will not be the subject of the plea agreement, will also be filed by the Government. I know Hunter believes it is important to take responsibility for these mistakes he made during a period of turmoil and addiction in his life. He looks forward to continuing his recovery and moving forward.”

A White House spokesperson said, “The President and First Lady love their son and support him as he continues to rebuild his life. We will have no further comment.”

The corrupt political establishment is just laughing at people now.

Be willing to bet good money that the guilty plea deal to those minor (compared to some of the other reported illegal acts) charges was accepted with the understanding that other possible charges would not be persued .. And by doing this they will try and sweep some of these and other things under the rug. . Laws and rules for me but not for thee. .................................... drill sgt.

From what I've heard it is rare to negotiate a deal before charges are actually brought. By doing this with Hunter they avoided the charges being out there for a while to be publicly analyzed. People would have learned what is in this thread, that there was serious prison time in play. Then when a deal to downgrade to misdemeanors with no real penalty would show how much preference was given to Hunter.

Instead this is a one day news event which will be minimized by the leftist media as "Nothing to see here, just a minor misdemeanor".

I'm actually a little impressed. This is next level, dictator type corruption. Either someone in this administration has huge balls, or there really is coordination between our broken media and the Democrats. No way this gets handled like this without assurances that the major players in the media will do the heavy lifting. It's being normalized as we speak.

And then no repercussions observed so subsequent violations will become ever more emboldened and egregious. They are on the path the absolute power absolutely corrupted.

What's the saying? We have met the enemy and he is us? Perhaps they don't want equality in military or LE; they've been trying to weaponize it against conservatives for when the final straw falls.

I guess some folks are more equal than others.

I am glad to hear that it is important to Hunter to accept responsibility for things.

Will that newfound integrity bleed over to his daughter as well?

Oh definitely. There's no way something like this happens, all in one day, without a high level of coordination between the DOJ and the Biden (crime family) legal team. This is all done to protect "the big guy" and to sweep it under the rug before the election campaign is in full swing.

Joe Biden may be an old, demented fool... but the people who control Joe Biden want to keep him there.
