Fly-Sig, from what I know of you, I suspect it would be far more the "he can't talk about it".

Not much to really tak about or say really…

Validate the target package
Go to weapons depth…
Spin up tubes…
Launch…verify…
Dive deep…hang a left…
Go get a sammich in the galley, two-tone-balone and yellow mustard.

Iran has tried to interfere with shipping in the Strait of Hormuz before. It didn't go well for them. They basically lost their entire navy in one day.

Why can't they just STFU and go away? They don't need a nuke. Nobody wants to invade their stupid country. We didn't do it when they kidnapped an entire embassy, or when they directly financed terror attacks against our personnel, or sent fighters to directly attack our military in Iraq and Afghanistan during GWOT, or when they stated supplying the Houthi's with missiles to bombard shipping in the Red Sea. The Israelis don't want their country, either. They just want them to stop lobbing missiles and rockets at them, or giving them to others to do the same.

If Iran wants it to stop, all they have to do is knock that shit off. Nobody cares about them, nobody wants to take what they have. It could all be over tomorrow and we could all go about our lives if they'd just stop behaving like petulant children. Heck, we'd probably even do business with them if they'd clean up their act. But instead, they just keep poking the bear. Any damage they sustain as a result is entirely on them.

Patton was right that the West was going to have problems with the Soviet Union in the (then) future. His public pronouncements, however, that they could and should be forestalled by going to war with the Red Army were probably nothing more than his common bombast. He reveled in attention and more than once said things that could only be considered bizarre. For example, he once reportedly said that more (artillery observer?) officers should be sent into positions to be killed in combat to emphasize that not only lower-ranking soldiers were being killed.

Well, at least that could be useful for some people….

Who’s laundering money through Iran?

DC was/is laundering graft through Ukraine. Is Iran doing that for Europe/Russia?

Otherwise, I guess it’s a “We have always been at war with Eastasia” situation, and their regime feels it cannot survive being peaceful.

UN Security Council had an emergency meeting today. We have veto power so the most they could ask for was a ceasefire.

Lol! Very true about a lot of things I've asked him about, but when I delve into nuclear topics he usually hits me with a couple sentences of advanced mumbo jumbo and then reverts to "you wouldn't understand really".

Exceptional planning and execution by our forces.
Iran finally gets a major kick in its collective teeth, IMO, long, long overdue for its attacks over the years. Although Rep. Massie(our congress rep) has his opinion, it does not reflect mine. Regards to all.

Maybe the U.N. drama-queens will hold a sit-in, like the democRAT congress-critters did in 2016 following their failed attempts, yet again, to undermine the Second Amendment. . .

https://www.politico.com/story...orce-gun-vote-224656

. . .and if that doesn’t work then I wouldn’t be surprised if the buffoons at the U.N. take even more drastic measures and hold a public All-Nations General Assembly Circle-Jerk, to get the proper attention they feel that they deserve, the phuking obnoxious and unappreciative ingrates that they are!

I’m not even going to look this one up because my gut tells me there’s an 89.7% chance that it’s true and a 100% chance I’m going to be disappointed with the truth either way.

I don’t know. If he did, two possibilities come to mind. The far more likely was that it was more bombast and exaggeration for effect. If, however, he genuinely believed that the US should have helped one of the most evil regimes in the history of the planet to succeed in its effort to subjugate a good part of the world, then he was not only the greatest hypocrite imaginable for having fought in the war, but also a traitor to his uniform and the nation. Patton was a human being and therefore flawed in many ways, but I cannot believe the latter of him.

Patton and McArthur were looking at things solely through the lens of a military problem. Civilian leadership and the nation, didn’t want another war. Both sides were probably wrong.
