In fairness, the police chief in Portland doesn’t really run the Dept. Portland has a very unusual set up in which the mayor is also the civilian police commissioner who is actually the head of the police department. While I have no doubt Miss outlaw leans to the left, even she found the actions of the mayor/police commissioner in Portland unacceptable on several occasions.

Can someone explain the duties of police commissisoner vs police chief? Is it the same job with a different title? Can a city have both?

My GOD, these mayors really must look under every rock for the most undesirable, radical, despicable, vial people on earth. Good luck Philly with this gem of delusional, wet dream, socialist democrat. Expect crime to rise and police moral to drop. Portland police was a disgrace under this misfit, and still the laughing stock of the world. Good Luck!

Affirmative action shakedown, she'll work for a year or so and then move on to another city.

In terms of property crime, people don't even bother to report much of it because PPB does absolutely NOTHING about it. So nobody really knows just how much property crime there is, but the city will tell you the numbers are good based on what does get reported. Same for assault, rape, fraud, etc. Nobody really knows.

In terms of the murder rate, yes it's been ticking up each year. Up to 4.4 per 100,000 in 2018. Much higher than the rest of the state.

But don't be swayed by fake news about the Portland Murder rate. W-Week posted that the number of murders in Portland are the lowest of the 30 most populated cities in America. Dumb shits didn't mention that Portland has about the lowest population of the 30 largest cities in the nation. Brutal fake news, but that's what you get from city hall now.

Let's see...

1 - Black..............Check
2 - Woman..............Check
3 - From Portland......Check

Now if only she's homosexual. That would be the trifecta of Leftist moronic behavior.

Something tells me the folks paying the vast majority of that $285k a year are 'not' the folks who will be receiving even a minority of the services from this department going forward.

The FOP does what it’s told by their handlers.

They are a political puppet of the left.

She will come in and ax every competent police officer and leader in this department, which is what we want her to do. She will tackle difficult issues like preventing the police from breaking up any ANTIFA riots, making sure drug dealers and gang members are protected from any retaliation from their victims and work hand in hand with the DA to ensure that only white collar crimes crimes committed by white people are investigated."

The commissioner is the only one that can activate the Bat Signal right?

Wow. I had to look at the OP twice and google her name to believe that some one would actually hire her with her track record. Like someone said, she checks all the boxes. And you thought Philthydelphia was bad before. Just give it a little time. Dayuum. Unbelievable.

A sad commentary on the conditions in many of our larger cities.

Unfortunately, to me, this seems to be nothing more than one more example of the destruction of the country.

I find it depressing to see people like her getting over-paid while the troops are routinely underpaid.

Those "troops" are out on the streets every day, exposed to violent actions by LEO hating idiots.

How many LEOs could they hire for $285K?

Portland currently has hundreds of unfilled openings for police officers. Nobody wants to be a police officer in Portland.

Perhaps, but Mayor Ted Wheeler did at least as much damage.
