What a year this has been! This may not compare to the grandeur of the tree in the White House, but I'm pretty happy with it.

Thumbs up buddy!! We put up a 15' live tree this year. I'm getting old enough that I don't know how many more we can do. It was our biggest in 20 years.

Nice!

I managed to start a new family tradition a few years ago.

While the usual 20 or so family members are here for Thanksgiving dinner I have them, the younger generations mostly, set up the tree and decorate it. That includes the grown grandsons dragging all the tree and stuff down from the attic while "Granny" points out what is needed for the task.

Meanwhile... I eat pie and watch TV. Big Grin

When they are done I thank them, tell them what a fantastic job they have done and ceremoniously plug in the the tree lights to a timer!

One of the best ideas I have ever had!

I’ve heard of a number of people who erect and decorate their tree at thanksgiving, when their family is all together. I can’t quite do it that early, growing up the tree would be done about mid December but, anymore I do it the first of the month and take it all down the first of January.

I have had that Santa since I was about ten or eleven, it’s actually a coin bank, but it never had the rubber plug for the bottom.

And, thanks, all for the sentiments, having a little trouble getting into the Christmas spirit this year.

Dude! Find another stem with no foliage, just bare.

Then hang some ammo on it.

You know, A Cartridge In A Bare Tree.

And yes, I've done it. Until I got a cat.

Nice tree! Looking at your bookshelf is like looking at mine - we've got many of the same books.

Nicely done Club !
Our went up today. As much cheer this year as possible is a good enough reason to go up a couple of weeks early!
Cheers to you and yours for a Merry Christmas!
