Thanks Para, very poignant.

Can you reference where that clip comes from? If it is a movie, I would like to view it in entirety. Thanks

Jim - from one pilot to another...

"Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence.

Hovering there I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

"Up, up the long delirious burning blue I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace, where never lark, or even eagle, flew;
and, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of God."

The key to enforcement is to punish the violator, not an inanimate object. The punishment of inanimate objects for the commission of a crime or carelessness is an affront to stupidity.

Very appropriate. "High Flight" by John Gillespie Magee Jr., a 19-year-old fighter pilot killed in an air accident in England. Has been one of my favorite "crys" for years.

Afterglow
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
Unknown

Yes Jim, there is an afterglow here..

It is an excellent and beautiful movie. Unless you know Malick's films, it won't be what you expect. Even if you do know Malick films, the next one won't be what you expect, but they never disappoint.

I think he would like it.

ETA: This movie will be aired on HBO this Sunday, November 11. November 11, 2018 will mark the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day. It is, of course, now Veterans Day.
