Be strong.

Whether they realize it or not, the people tending to your daughter are using their God given talents to care for her, so in their hands, she is in God's hands.

Parkers prayer for successful outcome has been sent. The only thing I could add about eye injury is that as a kid, using glue and burning and blowing up plastic models with firecrackers were the fashion of the day. Though one time I lit a match and it stuck to my finger from the glue we were also using to further ignite the plastic models, well the match wouldn't come off and burned my finger, I frantically tried to fling it off and the match head flew into my eye burning my cornea. Mom rushed me in to the hospital where they examined, anesthesized, and flushed the eye. I was left with a cloud over my cornea that the docs said would clear up with prescribed eye topical meds. It eventually did finally clear and my vision restored to normal.

So continued prayers inbound..

Regards, Will G.

My 10 year old got kicked in the eye a few weeks ago and ended up with a corneal abrasion. It was not fun for any of us.

He spent a few days wearing sunglasses around the house and then it healed up.

Hope your daughter gets well soon.

Prayers sent, Cope, for your daughter’s well-being. May God’s guiding hand lead the doctors hand in this surgery success.

They’ll get the cornea repaired, and there will probably be minimal loss of vision, and your daughter will have a cool story to tell.

Best wishes for an uncomplicated surgery and recovery!

Thanks for your input — of course we have an eye doctor / specialist here, why wouldn’t we?! Thanks so much.

And thank you all for the thoughts and prayers.

To upstate you .. the surgery went well, according to the doctor. It ended up being just under two hours. She said “only the cornea was lacerated” which is good news. Going into surgery she said other areas may be damaged but she wouldn’t know until surgery.

We are hopeful there will be no long term effects here.

Parker will need to be put back under anesthesia in about six weeks to have the stitches removed, unfortunately. But we’ll deal with that in due time.

In the meantime we are going to hold our little girl and be thankful it wasn’t worse.

Glad the initial prognosis is good!
