Today’s e-mails brought the news, a reminder, actually, that half of Trump’s nominees to offices have not yet been confirmed, languishing in the morass of God Damned Commie obstructionism.

Those who live in States burdened by God Damned Commie Senators need to light a fire under them somehow, raise hell or vote them out of office, which is best but takes too long.

This is disgraceful, Schumer.

~29 judges have been confirmed but there are some 170 vacancies to be filled. C’mom, man!

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Vacancies are created by the death, retirement or by taking senior status of a judge who serves for life during good behavior.

In the case of senior status, that means the senior judge is taking cases but less of a workload.

Otherwise, the court workload must be divided among the remaining judges.

There is a chart of the vacancies online, which courts, whose place is open and why, and who has been nominated if anyone, and when.

While I would rather more of the vacancies be filled, anyone who cheered Merrick Garland being blocked is a hypocrite if they now complain of other nominees being blocked.

Nonsense.

There was no way Garland was going to get 60 votes and no point in dragging him and the country through a long contentious hearing and vote.

As it was, the Republicans had to use the nuclear option, which they despised doing, to get Gorsuch, or anyone, confirmed to any judgeship past the unholy cabal of God Damned Commies led by Schumer. They brought it on themselves, and hypocrisy is their middle name.

I believe Joe Biden himself had said years earlier in a speech from the well of the Senate that the Senate had no business considering a Supreme Court nomination at that point in a presidential election cycle. Being the fine folks that they are, the Conservative senators were extremely sensitive to Uncle Joe's dictates and accommodated his wishes. God bless 'em.

Besides, hypocrisy and sanctimony are critical to the political process.

The only thing that counts is votes. See my signature quote from that noted professor and practitioner of political science below.
