I live pretty close to NAS Pensacola ( where they teach navy pilots and the blue angels are based)

They had a special screening for the aviator trainees the other night. I thought that was very cool.

I saw the original in the theater several times the summer it came out when I was a teen. I may have go to a real theater for the first time in several years to see this

I disagree, They are both good actors and both nut jobs.

He’s a nut job but I loved the first Top Gun and the trailer for this one looks amazing. I’ll probably wait and buy the Blu-ray so I can give my system a workout.

Unless they are downright treasonous (Jane Fonda), I’ve learned to separate the actor from the acting… it makes movies much more enjoyable.

Tom Cruise is a bit of a douche nozzle and is as nutty as Christmas cake, but to say he isn’t a good actor is nothing but personal bias.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." The problem with Tom Cruise is that he essentially plays the same character in every movie he's in. He does do it well, but I would say that that does not a good actor make.

Compare him to DiCaprio. No contest. The latter becomes the characters that he is playing vs. the characters becoming Tom Cruise. You don't see DiCaprio in the film, you see the character. That is the mark of a good actor.

For sure.

Is Blu-ray a thing anymore?
The streaming market is booming, but movie lovers are still buying DVDs and Blu-Rays. Collectors told Insider that physical discs offer higher movie quality than streaming services do. Even Netflix, which started in the DVD business, still makes money renting discs to customers.
