I admit I have not been a huge fan since a lot of their stuff is made in China.
Having said that they are known for great customer service.

My story is I had a pretty high end pair of bino's that I bought new from a well known manuf. After having a couple of years I just could not justify the money I had tied up in them. So I sold them at pretty much what I purchased them for.

I then bought an older, made in Japan Razor bino. the owner got them gifted to him out of a junk pile. In very rough shape. He sent to Vortex. They reconditioned them and sent them back to him. As they were extra's for him he wanted to sell them. The price was reasonable so I took a chance on them. Vortex did a nice job on them as they were on the verge of being junk before they got them.
Overall I would rate them a good solid 7+. The glass in pretty much exceptional. On par with the glass I sold that was more than 3x the price. So I was very happy.
They did not come with any covers for the glass. I called Vortex to see about purchasing some. They told no, I could not purchase. But with my address they would send them to me for free. My objection and wanting to pay got me no where. They gladly sent them out and I have now. They even included a hat. So Kudos to them.

Not sure I would buy a new item from them. But I might. I would really like to get and older Razor 1x scope but don't have a budget for one at the moment.

Thanks Vortex.

I have a few Vortex items, including a spotting scope, a Razor scope, and a Venom red dot. I got the Vortex case for the spotting scope too. Well, the shoulder strap on the case came undone (ripped from the case body). For grins I looked at the warranty, and it apparently was covered. With a simple email and pic of the damage, they sent me a new one.

I was impressed.

I have one of their scopes on a rifle I use occasionally.
3 to 9 variable with a 50mm objective lens and the intersection of the crosshairs has an illuminated red dot.
It's amazingly bright in dawn/dusk/dark situations.
The knob for the red dot illumination brightness level has a small coin battery under the cap. The lower brightness settings are for usage with night vision devices.
It's a very nice scope and it works well. I hope I never need to use the warranty.
I briefly looked at Leupold in the same/similar configuration. It was out of my budget.
So far it has held up to the shock loads from 7.62 x 51/.308 Win in an M1A.

I'm also a fan. I have a couple red dots and for Christmas I go the Copperhead HD binos. Big Bang for the buck and their warranty means little risk.

Good story and another highlight of how far the hook n'bullet industry has to go.

There's no shortage of gun companies having bad to frustrating customer service, this seems to extend to other aspects of the industry from large accessory brands, apparel brands, equipment and other associated items within the hunt and tactical market. I don't expect brands to bend-over-backwards to accommodate me, I just want somebody who's responsive and available, that aspect seems lost on many.

Interestingly, due to the Snipers Hide forum, I also purchased my Razor from Liberty. Flawless transaction, good price.

Fully agree. I lost a 6-24 scope on my Ruger Precision Rimfire when our house was flooded in 2022.
One call to Vortex, and I had a brand new one in my hands one week later.
They are exceptional.

When I started shooting nrl22 I went with an athlon ( not bad for the price of about $300 for a ffp 4-24 with a zero stop) and when I decided to upgrade equipment went with Vortex. Amazing quality at the price ( and they offer a hefty military/ vet discount)
Unfortunately like all sub thousand dollar optics with few exceptions it is made in china.
I never was much of an optic guy until recently shooting long range and precision 22 rimfire events. In the last decade or so Chinese built optics at least from the reputable names, have come a long way in quality
