Help with "What Is This?"
I have this thing in my garage, and have for quite some time. Can't figure it out. It's cast iron, about 14 to 16 inches from end to end.

Any ideas?

It looks like a flywheel holder for small engines.

My tongue swore, but my mind was still unpledged.

I was wondering about that. It looks like the vanes would interface with the fan blades on cast flywheels.

It's a Briggs and Stratton flywheel removal tool. It keeps the flywheel from turning while you break loose the nut on the crankshaft. If you have an air wrench you probably don't need one. https://www.ebay.com/i/162834172465?chn=ps

Prototype double actuated cow milker.

Unfortunately for the inventor, Lars Shjestedrtb, one cold dark morning he mistook his prize bull for a cow.

My guess is it's some kind of dedicated wrench to spin a large cap or plug.
