I have a Davis Vantage Pro 2. I mounted it on one of the posts of my garden fence. I put it up close to ten years ago and it's still going strong. Spendy though...

Apple Weather on my iPhone for me. Lots of useful weather info. Also moon phase info.

And “Hey Siri, what’s the wind velocity?”
“6MPH SW. Gusts 8MPH.”

Yeah, I don’t have a mechanical watch either.

Serious about crackers.

Weather varies a lot by area and the weather station gives me the info I want for my house. Most people do not care for it but I like having historical data to compare things like rainfall year to year.

A weather station is something I always wanted so I bought one a few years ago.

I have option 1. It works very well. As to the internet connection for remote viewing, it does not support 5gb wi-fi, only 2.5gb. When I switched to T-Mobiles 5gb network I lost connectivity. It still works on your remote screen, just not on wi-fi.

I had a T-Mobile Home Internet Gateway. You can dive into the settings and create separate 2.4G and 5G networks. I had to do that to get some of my devices to work reliably.
